I caught some of this in the 8-9PM show. Interview with Brian Lamb. Being re-broadcasted tonight 11-12M.

Some background: Info: Our guest is Mike Daisey, a performer who does full-length extemporaneous monologues on a variety of issues. His latest is called “The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs,” which examines Apple as well as Americans love for technology. The show just completed a run at Woolly Mammoth Theater in Washington, DC. Previous programs have delved into such issues as: Life in New York, the history of Homeland Security, international financial problems, and the American lack of support of the theater. In this interview, Mike Daisey talks about how he came to do his monologues and his ideas behind them. Clips of previous performances are shown including the one in 2007 where a group walked out of his performance in protest of the language he used. He is the author of one book, “21 Dog Years,” published in 2002.

Interesting what he has to say about Steve Jobs and Foxconn, the chinese electronic components company which manufactures 52% of ALL electronics!!!

I wouldn't mind attending that either...though 24 hours is a bit lofty. I wonder if it is going to be broad-casted? 600-700 seats seem minimal to me, considering his talent.

I am very impressed by him. I was especially taken by the fact that Steve Wozniak was moved to tears from his performance and said that Daisey's performance...."changed him".

Story-tellers...GREAT story-tellers can and do have that effect on people and I'm so glad to see folks like Daisey finding a creative and compelling way to reach folks. I for one, would love to see his work hit mainstream!

The piece on Foxconn is certainly an area which gets little or no attention at all! I remember the 'puff piece' he talked about - about the suicides - but even with that, at least there was some national exposure given to the subject and the horrible, inhumane conditions with the (what is it)? 450,000 "employees"?

I think I share in his vision that maybe Steve Jobs, maverick that he is, has within his power to maybe re-think using Foxconn and find other more humane ways in which to produce the Apple line and perhaps set into action a template where other electronic companies could follow suit.

...at least, I'd like to hope so ~
