Franklin Graham says he supports Trump, despite divorces, casinos
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - North Carolina's Rev. Franklin Graham, son of legendary evangelist Billy Graham, seems to be supporting Donald Trump, the flamboyant New York real estate developer who is toying with a 2012 presidential run.
Franklin Graham, who runs Samaritan's Purse out of the Boone area, said on Sunday that Trump – who has been divorced several times and owns gambling casinos – could be "right" on some issues.
"Donald Trump, when I first saw that he was getting in, I thought, ‘Well, this has got to be a joke.'," Graham said about Trump, who is a Presbyterian. "But the more you listen to him, the more you say to yourself, ‘You know, maybe the guy's right.' So there's a... "
Graham, whose father advised several U.S. presidents, was cut off at that point by Christine Amanpour, the host of ABC's 'This Week', on whose program Graham appeared Sunday morning.
