Prosser (now) vague on visiting Governor's office, denies one-on-one meeting
Backing off a bit on the meeting, I see.

MADISON (WKOW) -- In an interview with WKOW27 News, state supreme court justice David Prosser denied meeting with Governor Walker the day after voters decided between Prosser and challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg in a hotly-contested race, but said it was possible he was at the governor's office.

"It is conceivable that during that week, I stopped down to the governor's office," Prosser told WKOW27 News.

Prosser told WKOW27 News any visit would have been to request gubernatorial mementoes for visiting international students.

(snip)

WKOW27 news has requested an opportunity to inspect the official, appointment calendars maintained for both Walker and Prosser.

"There certainly would be nothing on an official record showing what almost had to have been a spontaneous meeting with the governor, if there had been such a meeting with the governor," Prosser said.

"There was no such meeting."

UPDATE Wisconsin Recount: Day 2, Prosser Modifies Denial of Walker Meeting

In an interview today, however, Prosser went from describing the allegations as "patently untrue" and "pure malice" to "I can't remember if I went to the Capitol that night. My staff seems to recall that I did." Prosser says that if he did go to the Capitol, he did not see Governor Walker but says he might have stopped at the Governor's office to pick up some ceremonial pens to give to visiting international students.

1. Why have guber momentos when they can get them from the governor himself
and meet the governor? Sounds like a lame excuse to me.

If he couldn't remember if he went to Walker's office, why would he remember the reason for the visit? :silly:

Edited on Fri Apr-29-11 12:55 AM by divine_truine
What else is new? and this creep will recieve lifetime healthcare benefits (including their immediately family members) paid for by you and me, the u.s.a. taxpayers! while same republicans attempt to take away same healthcare from their constituents under the cloak of darkness!

FINALLY! elder republicans/ independents beginning to see the light that those republicans who they voted for misrepresented their position on medicare/ social security until they got their f#@king a$$e$ elected, by hook & by crook! The only thing that needs to be done with SS/ medicare is to open it up for everyone & address any fraud waste & abuse so that the system runs smoothly!

VOTE 4 a progressive democrat in Nov. 2012, as if your life depended on it! Be ever watchful & on the lookout for voter/ election fraud!

5. From the comments section, one poster said...
"Prosser said TODAY that he spent the whole day in Delafield on April 6th."

Another down the page mentioned that it was "just a little two-hour round trip from Delafield to the Capitol.  I could see how that slipped his mind."

April 6 is the date several witnesses saw Prosser visit Walker's office.

6. Prosser is clearly lying, and not doing a very good job of it.
He is hiding something.

15. The classic Saint Ronnie defense.
"The simple truth is, 'I don't remember--period.'"
--President Reagan, responding to a question about when he authorized arms shipments to Iran, February 2, 1987

"A few months ago I told the American people I did not trade arms for hostages. My heart and my best intentions still tell me that's true, but the facts and the evidence tell me it is not."
--Reagan in a television address is forced to acknowledge "the facts and the evidence" uncovered by the commission that Reagan appointed to look into the matter, March 4, 1987

"I told you all the truth that first day after...everything hit the fan."
--President Reagan, June 11, 1987

13. He should try Polivite
Are you a politican?
Are you having trouble remembering?

Try Polivite! The vitamin supplement specially formulated for politicians who seem to experience a rapid deterioration of the memory faculties upon attaining office.

14. If you are too incompetent
to remember how you spend your day a few days later, and whether or not you met with the governor, you are certainly too incompetent to follow a trial and make a decent ruling.

I'm really tired of the "I don't recall", "I don't remember" defense.
