The selection was quite small when my daughter wanted a dress that wasn't strapless. So this is a refreshing change.

"Keep calm and keep waving."

Lots of cheering. The banks of cameras and studios facing all this is amazing.

Oh they're pulled up to the church now.

Little bitty bouquet, considering.

LOVELY dress. Really nice. SHE's wearing it. In Diana's case, the dress wore her. No 25-foot train. More like maybe 10.

NICE dress. She's beautiful. Nice job!

GREAT overhead shot. Beautiful. Not garish. Elegant and tasteful.

it's so sleek, unlike poor Princess Diana's that seemed to weigh her down with just toooo much - everything. Perhaps an omen.

134. One of the women commentators on CNN earlier said that when she saw Diana get out of the carriage
and her dress was finally revealed, all this woman could think of was "unmade bed." Because the silk taffeta was so wrinkled from having been folded into that little coach. The designers had to smooth it all out in the vestibule before she proceeded in. She was almost eaten up by that dress, but I remember reading at the time how there was a sense that the dress had to be an event because of the status of the bride wearing it - then presumed to be England's future queen.

"Homage to Lady Gaga AND Furniture Warehouse in one fell swoop. Genius"

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Princess-Beatrices-ridiculous-Royal-Wedding-hat/203705509669392

Somebody just posted on there calling it one of the "alarming fascinators" with which our girl Beatrice seems to be much taken.

THIS is among the MANY reasons to take in the whole thing. I absolutely LIVE for this stuff. I've been laughing for HOURS. The gossip's been great, the random one-liners like "it's not often you see prime ministers on a bus" and "you better be good when you're singing 'Jerusalem' if you're sitting next to Elton John." And the hats. It's wonderful and elegant and hilarious and silly all at the same time.

I just love the shots of people celebrating in Hyde Park and across from Buckingham Palace - how long has it been since we've seen so many happy people? The last few times I can think of, it's half-a-loaf of happy people because it's some sporting event where one side won and the other side's bummed out, or an election - like Barack Obama's, where there WAS such celebrating but it was juxtaposed by glowering pouting GOPers. THIS is just a whole lot of EVERYBODY looking happy and smiling and laughing and jumping around and dancing together and waving flags and celebrating and cheering. It's just such a morale booster! And Richard Quest on top of it all.

It's a shot in the arm that I think the whole world has needed.

strapless is ok but the problem is too many people who can't and shouldn't be wearing strapless have been getting it.

I read that 95% of the wedding dresses sold here were strapless -- and that seemed about right. The selection of non-strapless dresses was so small, but she found one. It had lace all over and was beautiful. A similar, traditional feeling to Kate's.

And somebody should have straightened Kate's brother's tie before he got up to speak. He looks like he just rolled out of bed.

less bridesmaids and bridal party is small. Maybe it's the 'austerity' thing. Am I wrong?

Kate's tiara was once worn by the late Queen Mum. As my husband said - "so she wore the 'King's Speech' tiara!"

NICE tiara! And her earrings were a wedding gift from her parents. Getting raves for her style - understandably. VERY tasteful. Like it. Like her. She didn't embarrass anybody today. Will she revitalize The Monarchy? Who knows? But one thing's certain: a star is born!

149. Tina Brown just can't be anything approaching gracious.
She keeps taking catty pot shots at the Middleton family, implying that they were ambitiously pushing their daughter to get where she is today.

156. I was sick of her last week when she said, while talking about a possible
wedding dress choice, "Well she's going to want to cover THOSE arms." She's a bad word that we can't say here.

All she has to do is put her hair up in rollers and slap some cold cream on her face. :meow:
