Tree-killing vandal strikes again at park (San Francisco)

The vandal with a penchant for killing trees in Golden Gate Park seems to be at it again.

Police have increased patrols and undercover operations in the park after seven more trees were found hacked in two over the last week.

Six destroyed saplings - three redwood, one dogwood, one magnolia and one red plum - were discovered Monday morning at Doughboy Meadow, said Recreation and Park Department spokesman Elton Pon. Workers on Wednesday discovered a more mature tree cut down in the Rhododendron Dell.
