SUNDAY BEST: IN CASE YOU MISSED IT (the man behind Walker and his Repug poodles)...

He is a one-man TeaPartier who like to work alone and control people and things!!
It is a long article but worth the read to get a sense of how Walker gets briefed and who is in charge in Wisconsin. Huebsch is the one who claimed damage to the Capitol was over 7 million dollars in a court of law and got away with it.

................................

The woman asked Huebsch how he can look at himself in the mirror every morning.

"That's one," Huebsch says.

"You're an embarrassment to Wisconsin," she adds.

"There's two," Huebsch says.............

1. Posted last Monday. And he isn't a one-man TeaPartier. He's former ALEC state chair for WI, and
you can't understand what's going on in Wisconsin unless you know how many of these people are ALEC members and how closely they're following ALEC guidelines.

Link to the topic posted about that article last Monday:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x955258

Which is also linked to from the long compilation topic on the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) -- reply 258 there.

Huebsch was ALEC state chair (one of two in Wisconsin) just last year. So was Scott Fitzgerald, WI Senate Majority Leader. (It's a safe bet his brother, who heads the state Assembly, is an ALEC member as well.) The current ALEC state chair for Wisconsin is co-chair of the legislature's Joint Finance Commitee. The other co-chair of that committee is also an ALEC member. Walker appointed a former ALEC Legislator of the Year who was also on ALEC's board of directors to chair Wisconsin's Public Service Commission (reply 158 in the compilation topic).

3. I called him a TeaPartier cause
he only has the mentality of saving money no matter the human cost to people in WI.
and I agree with you about ALEC. I have read lots of material about it --including how WI is involved.

The Fitz brothers are bad news for Wisconsin Progressives.
But thanks for the post last Monday.

2. John Medinger speaks for the people, hope he's willing to run for something again...

<snip from the LaCrosse Daily Disappointment, er I mean Tribune, link>

Former state legislator and longtime politician John Medinger of La Crosse accused Walker and Huebsch of acting out of an "arrogance caused by too great pride."

"In this transition they've lost their focus on jobs and are heavy on ideology," Medinger said. "They don't like unions. And if you destroy the unions, you are really destroying the Democratic Party. I think they've overreached."

<end snip>

I've known John for more than 40 years. Back then John was organizing fund drives for Muscular Dystrophy and providing service leadership at UW-LaCrosse. It would good to lure him back into an active political role.
