Former President Donald Trump on Sunday night unleashed a paranoid rant about the 2020 election that included unsourced accusations about the FBI being out to get him.
The former president was inspired to write about the 2020 election again after CBS's "60 Minutes" devoted a lengthy segment to the false claims made by Trump and his allies about Dominion Voting Systems, which has filed multiple defamation lawsuits after it was accused of conspiring with the late Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez of stealing the 2020 election.
“'60 Minutes' is not a News Show, it is a Democrat propaganda machine," the twice-impeached former president wrote. "Their story last night on Election Fraud was a JOKE! The evidence is massive, not to even mention that State Legislatures did not grant necessary approvals, the FBI paid people to, essentially, 'get Trump,' and then told Facebook and others that the Laptop from Hell was Russian disinformation, when they knew it was not - and much more."
Trump concluded his rant by attacking some of his own former administration officials for purportedly not doing enough to keep him in power even after he lost the election to President Joe Biden.

Trump Organization ready to call ex-CFO a liar as tax fraud trial begins

NEW YORK (Reuters) -Jury selection is set to start on Monday in the tax fraud trial of former U.S. President Donald Trump's company, with the Trump Organization ready to accuse its longtime chief financial officer of lying in a case in which the business is accused of awarding "off the books" benefits to some senior executives.

Susan Necheles, a lawyer for the Trump Organization, said in a virtual hearing last week that challenging Weisselberg's admission that he hid information from the accountants would be part of the company's defense, according to a transcript of the proceeding held behind closed doors that was later unsealed.
"Weisselberg will testify he believed everything he was doing was wrong," Necheles said during the video conference. "We think he's lying and we want to show that."

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday posted an ominous message on his Truth Social platform in which he declared that the "cancer" coming from "the danger within" the United States was a much bigger problem than any external threat.
The Truth Social post came in reaction to a meme posted by one of the twice-impeached former president's supporters that accused Democrats of being "totally heinous international terrorists."
Reacting to this, Trump launched a threatening rant against his political foes.
"It was during the Trump Administration that the 'Deep State' corruption, and pure hatred of our Country, was fully EXPOSED - No longer just a nasty myth, concept, or idea," he wrote. "This is yet another great achievement, but something must now be done to rid us of this Cancer that is purposely destroying our Nation. There is far more danger from within than anything coming from the outside."

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) recently experienced an odd moment while reading a Bible passage. She seemed to confuse senseless murder with a dumpling.
Boebert, a conspiracy theorist who has embraced QAnon extremism, was reciting a passage from Romans that ― in "The Message" edition she was reading from ― referred to "wanton killing." Except Boebert pronounced it more like "wonton," the delicious dumpling often found in soup at Chinese restaurants.
"I don't know what a wonton killing is," she said in the footage posted online by PatriotTakes, which monitors right-wing media. "I'm gonna have to look that one up, but it sounds interesting."

It was published online on Friday evening, around the same time another Murdoch publication, the Wall Street Journal, also published an editorial harshly critiquing the former president.
The Journal called him "The President Who Stood Still on Jan. 6" and praised Vice President Mike Pence. "Character is revealed in a crisis, and Mr. Pence passed his Jan. 6 trial. Mr. Trump utterly failed his," the Journal editorial stated.

Instead of making excuses or changing the subject, as some conservative commentators have done, the Journal's editorial said Trump "failed" to do his duty as commander in chief.
The Post's editorial page, which wrote last month that "we need a fresh start" with "a new crop of conservatives," went further in its editorial after Thursday's prime time hearing.
"It's up to the Justice Department to decide if this is a crime," the Post said. "But as a matter of principle, as a matter of character, Trump has proven himself unworthy to be this country's chief executive again."

"This is what we call a credibility contest, and people would have to decide who they believe," Honig said.
"I think it's really important to note that another White House staffer Alyssa Farah...has said publicly that she testified to the committee about something that Tony Ornato said to her that was damning to the president and Ornato, she said, falsely denied that as well," Honig said. "If I have to decide between Cassidy Hutchinson and Alyssa Farah...and Tony Ornato, I'm coming out on Hutchinson and Farah's side."

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of Donald Trump's staunchest allies in Congress, on Thursday laid out demands for a GOP leader to earn her vote for House Speaker if Republicans are able to retake the majority after the 2022 elections and cast doubt on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy being elected to the position.
"We know that Kevin McCarthy has a problem in our conference. He doesn't have the full support to be speaker," Greene said on an episode of Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz's podcast that aired Thursday morning. "He doesn't have the votes that are there, because there's many of us that are very unhappy about the failure to hold Republicans accountable, while conservatives like me, Paul Gosar, and many others just constantly take the abuse by the Democrats."
Greene, who previously told reporters she would be laying out a list of demands to earn her speaker vote, mentioned some of the challenges that lay ahead in McCarthy's quest for the speaker's gavel. Among her demands, the Republican told Gaetz she wants fellow GOP Reps. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Liz Cheney of Wyoming kicked out of the House Republican Conference for serving on the January 6 committee, something McCarthy has so far resisted. She also said she has no respect for current GOP leadership.

Greene also wants to see moderate Rep. John Katko, a New York Republican and McCarthy ally, lose his top spot on the House Homeland Security Committee. Katko, who represents a key swing district, supported the bipartisan infrastructure law, voted to impeach Trump and supported the Democratic-led effort to remove Greene from her committees.
"Katko's not a Republican. He's a Democrat," Greene said. "Our conference and the NRCC needs to stop playing this majority-maker game."

Donald Trump told journalists that he believed he could beat George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in an election.
"I think it would be hard if George Washington came back from the dead and he chose Abraham Lincoln as his vice-president, I think it would have been very hard for them to beat me," Trump told Washington Post journalists Philip Rucker and Carol Leonnig.
Rucker and Leonnig recounted the comment in their new book about Trump, "I Alone Can Fix It," according to a review by The Guardian.
Lincoln and Washington are often ranked by historians as the two greatest presidents in US history.
