Texas Governor Greg Abbott

is killing Republicans and they love him. Find a cure.

Uh Oh! Something very dark is brewing...

Our local grocery chain, HEB (OK, our ONLY grocery chain) has a lot of notices posted all over the store. They say, in essence, that some of our favorite items may not be available as HEB is now concentrating on critical, necessary items. They don't do this for hurricane season. They must be doing it for the Covid19 (Delta) uptick. Corpus Christi is LESS THAN HALF vaccinated due to a plethora of misinformation, conservatism, and way too much religion, and way too little education. I would ask for your thoughts and prayers, but I hate that sort of thing. Send red velvet cake!

We don't know exactly where this novel corona virus came from,

but we do know where this disease know as "vaccine hesitancy" came from: it came from the right wing labs known as Fox News, OAN, the Heritage Foundation, Mega-Churches, and the halls of Congress, and Mar a Lago. Let's start some commissions to look into THIS!

Forget the Alamo censored by the usual suspects!

From The Week:

"The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin abruptly canceled an event scheduled for Thursday evening featuring the authors of a new book on the Alamo and its role in the mythology of Texas. Chris Tomlinson, a Houston Chronicle columnist and one of the authors of the book, Forget the Alamo: The Rise and Fall of an American Myth, said a museum employee told him they had to cancel the event "following a social media campaign by right-wingers and an order from the board," made up of Gov. Greg Abbott (R), Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R), state House Speaker Dade Phelan (R), two other GOP state lawmakers, and a citizen board member."

Good book, but a typical, and expected, response from Texas

Cornyn, Cruz, and Trump are effusive in their concern over Hurricane Hanna...

oh, wait, no they aren't. I guess Corpus Christi is too "Mexican" to deserve a comment, much less the valley. More fuel for changing leadership!

New name for the Chief Executive - the ABIC

Pronounced "ay-bic", for Ass Biter In Chief.

Governors ask for help. ABIC denies, says "do it yourselves". Governors try to do it, ABIC steals their stuff. Health crisis continues. ABIC blames same governors (bites them in the ass).

Other governors do nothing. Pandemic catches up with them. Outrage ensues, ABIC THEN BITES THEM IN THE ASS!

Rinse, lather, repeat...

Houston Chronicle today has five headlines that depict Trump world.

"Boys school shuts down amid fallout over Washington videos"
"US prosecutors: Bribes used to hide Russian kickback scheme"
"Ex-University of Okla. students apologize for racist video"
"The Latest: 4 charged with plotting attack on Muslim enclave"
"3 charged with planned explosive attack on Muslim community"

These are not normal times, but the constant barrage of evil spawned by Trumpism makes it harder to see every day.

Any peep from the Orange Mistake about

Typhoon Yutu? About the 50K+ Americans facing a cat 5? Any concern about 180 mph winds, and 200 mph gusts? How about the fact that is is very wet? Does Caravan Don even know about it? I know he couldn't find Saipan or Tinian on a map, but could any of his staff? Unlike Puerto Rico, this territory really is out in the middle of a very large ocean, and help should have started there days ago. Any word on that?

Does this summarize the Trumpist position on Russia?

"All of our intelligence agencies are wrong or lying, and the same with British and Spanish agencies. The Republican lead Senate Intelligence Committee is either wrong or lying. Even though top Trump officials and family members lied about meeting with many Russians at many times, they are all wrong or lying when they later admitted to it, ESPECIALLY the ones that pled guilty. Even though very evil Russian oligarchs and mobsters turn up repeatedly closely associated with many high-level campaign and cabinet officials, it is just coincidence. Even though both houses of Congress passed sanctions against Russia that Trump refused to act on, that too is unrelated. Yes, Russia invaded Ukraine, but it is not so bad because the territory invaded mainly spoke Russian. That is nothing like saying it would be OK for Mexico to take over Hidalgo County, Texas because a majority of the people speak Spanish. Nothing at all."

I am continually surprised

that RWNJs don't know that the Bill of Rights apply to all people on U.S. soil, not just citizens. Now some, of course, are just trying to mislead their fellows to support their agendas, but I run into those that actually believe that it's the "truth". Hard to run a country well when people don't know the basics. Should we deport them? You and I know it would be unconstitutional, but THEY wouldn't.
