How Amazon Crushed the Union Effort in Alabama

snip:

as one warehouse worker told me near the end of the election, “Everything came too late.”

Like others in this story, she spoke on condition of anonymity, fearful of retaliation from Amazon. While she was happy to see the public backing, she didn’t think it would make much of a difference when workers were already deep into a seven-week mail-in election. Amazon had been holding anti-union meetings and urging workers to vote as quickly as possible. Many voters had already cast their ballots.

This particular worker didn’t have her first in-depth conversation with a union organizer until after she’d been forced to sit through several of the anti-union meetings Amazon’s consultants ran.

“You just can’t escape it anywhere,” she said. “Amazon just bulldozed.”

Keilar dissects Ted's bogus journey

A totally awesome roasting of Flyin' Ted. Her most hilarious one in my mind (lots of funny cultural references):

John Dean recommends Rule XI impeachment committee

On CNN just now. He said it would be a good way to go to educate the public. I won't pretend to know the rules of the Senate but here is what I found on a search.

Anderson Cooper to Amanda Gorman: wow you're awesome

The pundits are going crazy about her now. She just gives you hope. What an amazing young lady.

I hope Biden changes his mind about traveling by train to DC

We're all aware of his affinity for train travel and it is a great symbolic event - in any other time. I did a search and it appears that the trip that was planned before the Capitol insurrection and the FBI warning about threats is still on:

Going by train is unlike any other mode of transportation he could take. Trains can't veer off the tracks or stop quickly and back up. Some of the terrorists are adept at building bombs. A bomb or bombs could be planted or buried beforehand at multiple locations and detonated by remote control. They don't have to be right there. It is a 100 mile trip. There is no way they can check out the entire areas of 100 miles of track. Anyone who thinks it's not a big deal and LE will take care of it, hasn't been paying attention.

In addition to the upcoming good things like the inauguration ...

... and Democrats taking over the Senate, there is another event to look forward to: Rush Limbaugh will die!

Murdered officer was war vet and critic of the Iraq war

"Sicknick was a former Air National Guardsman who, according to his brother, served in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Enduring Freedom before joining the police force. He then became a critic of the Iraq war and the treatment of military veterans"

Brianna getting ready to Roll the Tape on the enablers
