Trump beat women twice. He lost to a man. He was less qualified than all 3.
As a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist he won the plurality of the vote against the black woman.
It wasn't policy. It wasn't that he resonated with some part of the voters.
Many American voters chose an unqualified, criminal, failure over a qualified black woman.
Kill vaccines by killing ACA...
If they kill that ACA which mandates that preventative care like vaccines are covered 100%,they can attack vaccines in many ways.
They can then issue a decree that since there are some religious objections to vaccines, it would be a violation of their christofascist principles to force plan holders to absorb part of the cost as part of a religious freedom argument.
Consequently, vaccines go from 100% coverage to NO ALLOWED coverage. So, only the rich can afford it. Furthermore, it would allow them to ban it from Medicare and Medicaid. No shingles. No RSV. No polio boosters for the poor and old when polio becomes endemic in the US again.
Added bonus it kills off a lot of old people as flu, RSV, and polio wipe out the old.
Just trying to think like a christofascist while I can't sleep and taking the logical (in their minds) consequences of how to combine religious freedom arguments (christofascist versions are the only versions free to operate) and their fascist plans to kill off the old and poor.
Of course, they aren't smart enough to realize that this counteracts the abortion ban and gutting of public education and the long game of trying to generate millions of poor workers willing to work for minimum wage or sub current minimum wage as well as forcing people who previously lived on social security back into the market for jobs this creating a glut of workers and driving wages down.

I woke up after 3 hours of sleep seething with anger ... and I want to get this off my chest. Hopefully it won't get marked for deletion.
I am most angry at the spineless work of the Attorney General -- who slow walked ALL of the indictments for TFG and the rest of the coup conspirators. I am also angry at the people here who kept responding to those of who would say "Justice delayed is justice denied" that Garland knows best and that the wheel of justice grind slowly. Well, as always for Republicans, the wheels of justice do not grind at all.
I am angry at the spinelessness of Judge Merchan -- TFG should have been sentenced like anyone else. You know what your slow walking sentencing until after the election is going to get Judge M -- a trip to the gulag/re-education camp/concentration camp , just like everyone else who ever angered the orange felon. You treated him with kid gloves and now he will likely have you jailed, tortured, and/or killed.
All the other judges who let him deny and delay.
We all know that you get all the justice that you can afford in this country -- TFG shows you get the justice people think you can afford if they think you are a billionaire even if you are just a money laundering pass through for russian oligarchs.
I am not angry at the Mitch McConnell's of the world. They are who they said they were -- they always put party power over over the country and the people.
I am angry at all the Dems who came before who let every powerful criminal republican get away with every crime they committed. Nixon paid the North Vietnamese to stay away from the peace talks -- no problem, no charges. Agnew only had to resign. His enablers -- people like GHW Bush who tried to extort a Senator to influence a prosecution were never held accountable. If the old man was disgraced -- perhaps we would have been spared the shrub and lies about WMD as well. I still cannot believe that when the Dems got confirmation in the last year of Reagan's second term that he and Jim Baker gave satchels full of cash to the Iranians to hold onto the hostages until after the lection, that they did not want to splinter the country by impeaching Reagan. Of course, if they had GHW would not have been elected and Bill Barr would not have been able to screw over the justice system twice covering up crimiinality by the Republican party (I'll pass over the people who said that Bill Barr would be a good AG because he had been before -- he was a fixer the first time and a fixer the second time -- he was basically a mafia lawyer for the GOP).
I am angry at the over 16 million people who voted in 2020 who didn't this time.
But I am also angry because I am so sad. Talking to my friend who works at a state university in the midwest with a lot of LGTBQ+ students and he said he is actively checking on over 30 students to make certain that they don't self harm or become suicidal. I am sad that my trans niece will almost surely have her puberty blockers outlawed and I fear what damage that will wreak on her. I am sad that soon what few counties that will still have hospitals in them will all have iron lung wings again as polio makes a comeback as the antivaxxers take over what is left (if anything is ) of the CDC and NIH. I am sad because when they ban abortion and get rid of the german measels (rubella) vaccination -- that pregnant women will catch rubella and it will cause miscarriages that cannot be treated until the woman is nearly dead from sepsis. I am sad that by the end of next January that there will no longer be a Taiwan -- that China will invade as long as they all a trump tower in the rebuilt version of Taipei City. I am sad that after Ukraine, Russia will start swallowing up the rest of the former Societ union as the NATO treaty will be worthless and the US will be compliant in a great axis of evil. I am saddened because although I plan to find a job in education in some other part of the world, that the people that I work with will all lose their jobs because when Project 2025 dismantles the Dept of Education -- there will be no need for work that we do for state, district, and federal contracts.
I am saddened that so many people just voted effectively to end the ACA and that people that they love will have to choose bankruptcy or death when they lose their insurance due to pre-existing conditions or lifetime caps. Many of them voted aginst an uppity black woman and have effectively signed the death warrant of themselves or someone in their family.
I am both angry and sad that I will have to tell my wife whose father has terminal cancer -- honey, whether he is still alive or not, we gotta be out of the country by Jan 19. Because I will not go to a re-education camp or whatever concentration they will but intelligentsia and rabble rousers like me. I am even more angry that the NRA and Fox news turned my FIL who once was a minister working on anti-Racism initiatives in NC with the Rev. Barber Senior into someone who voted for tRump at least twice. And I may lose my wife because I cannot stay here --- the new nazis and apartheid clyde have told you what they will do in Project 2025 and on stage believe it. There will be no guard rails.

The country is so ruined by racism and sexism that it is beyond saving
Even if the blue wall holds and Harris wins. That a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist who us unqualified and incapable of doing the job is even a legitimate candidate because white males won't vote for a black woman because she wouldn't go on Rogan podcast or whatever excuse for their racism and sexism they come up with us just pathetic.
That any Latino would vote for trump is beyond me.
I can only hope that some firmer British Commonwealth country needs someone in science education and assessment in my job skill set.
Interesting encounter in rural Alabama
I am in Monroeville Alabama, the place that is the real world location of to kill a mockingbird.
Was getting breakfast at Hardee's when a white dude who must have been in his seventies asked me who I thought would win the election out of the blue.
I told him I think it will be Harris. The Dobbs decision has made many women angry. Saying that they want to go after gay marriage is hurting the Republicans with young people. Everyone has a gay friend or relative who us married now and young people are not going back.
He nodded and said "I think you are right."
Drive around town to see the locations that were copied in the movie. Not a single sign for TFG anywhere. Only a couple of Harris signs but in rural economically depressed Alabama, the complete lack of the felons signs or even vehicles with MAGA on them was very encouraging.
Been all over the south for work since The beginning of the summer. Not seeing a lot of open support for the felon.
Bezos and the Washington Post group ..irony
I was working for Kaplan test prep when Bezos bought the Washington Post group. We had a lot of meetings about the change in ownership.
We were told that the two key pieces he wanted were Kaplan College (the for profit college that was basically printing money at the time) and the test prep company. Although test prep was strong, they wanted to cut costs so they ended up closing storefronts with the idea that they would save money by renting conference rooms only when they needed them or by using college classrooms (or HS) by giving some incentive like one free person to the prelaw club for every ten students if they got us a location on campus.
We were told that Bezos was looking to sell off the Washington Post and all other print media because he thought print media was dying and would not be profitable enough. Even the college guides.
Ironically, Kaplan college was problematic because of predatory lending and he has now used the Washington Post to prop up people who give him tax breaks. They eventually sold off Kaplan college locations to Purdue and that is why there are so many satellite locations for Purdue now

I just voted in Iowa City and there was a steady stream of folks. Poll workers said it has been busy all day.

Had an encounter with a MAGAt yesterday and now the wife is angry with me
Let me preface this by saying that this happened after church -- immediately after this dude's wife gave a lovely sermon about our need to listen to God and help with healing people, feeding people, and meeting their needs in the spirit of Jesus' having compassion with people in the story of feeding the the 5000. (Iowa City location)
Someone else asked if he was voting for Kamala. He was rather non-committal. Then he said "Politics is too contentious with people on the extremes, I miss the days when people used to compromise and get things done."
Original woman said -- "YOu mean like the bipartisan border bill that Trump ordered republicans to kill after a Republican Senator from Oklahoma wrote it that had all the things the republcans said they wanted in the bill."
Dude says "I don't think it happened like that."
Original woman then says "You would vote for a convicted felon and rapist..."
Dude says -- "If they can go after Trump for that, then they could go after any of us."
I can't take it anymore and say -- "Yep, you're right. Who among us has not paid off a porn star over $125,000 for sex and then claimed it as a business expense. Yep, they could certainly get us all for that kind of fraud."
My wife yanked me away and said that I was being an asshole and that I wasn't going to change his mind that way.
My response -- " NOthing is going to change hs mind and I am sick and tired of them thinking they can't be fact checked when they lie all the time."
She was VERY ANGRY -- he was being respectful and you were a jerk.

Bill Barr....need or offered a pardon?
After listening to Maddow and O'Donnell last night, I couldn't help but think that old Billy hasn't and won't endorse Kamala because he knows he needs a TFG pardon for all the obstruction of justice he did to interfere with the Egypt case, the Russian interference case, and probably another couple dozen cases.
Wonder if he has been offered a pardon to shut his pie hole or keep lying. Also wonder if a polonium cocktail was threatened if he tells the truth.
Barr is likely more evil and responsible for the destruction of US democracy than McConnell.
