My Super Bowl Cowardice

I like the Eagles. They're one of my favorite teams. Therefore, I'm going to my in-laws house, where all sports are frowned upon, to watch a movie. That way, I won't actually have to see the Patriots overcome a halftime deficit to win the game 27-26 in the final half-minute.. My wife is staying home to watch the game, so she'll be on top our next dozen times at least.

Trudeau faces rowdy crowd of anti-Kinder Morgan pipeline hecklers at B.C. town hall

Source: CBC News

By Peter Zimonjic, CBC News Posted: Feb 02, 2018 1:42 PM ET Last Updated: Feb 02, 2018 8:52 PM ET

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a spirited defence of his decision to approve the Kinder Morgan pipeline during the final — and at times rowdy — town hall meeting of his cross-country tour today in Nanaimo, B.C.

The prime minister was greeted by a chorus of boos — and slightly louder cheers of welcome — as he walked into the room.

But his defence of Kinder Morgan began when an elderly woman asked Trudeau to "please, please, please" stop the pipeline expansion from bringing more oil from Alberta to the B.C. coast.

As Trudeau attempted to defend his ideas about protecting the environment while growing the economy, he was shouted down by a number of activists. Three of them had to be removed by police after the local First Nation chief and Trudeau failed to talk them down.

"The Nunes Memo Is a Complete Flop" by Jeremy Stahl, Slate - FEB 02, 2018 3:00 PM

The heavily hyped classified memo produced by House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes to discredit the Russia investigation was released on Friday.

The document makes bold declarations about its own significance and asserts to find damning proof of an orchestrated campaign within the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation to smear Donald Trump, both during his candidacy in 2016 and now during his presidency.

The substance of the memo itself, though, offers virtually no new information. Its reckless assertions of a widespread conspiracy at the top echelons of the Justice Department to bring down the Trump campaign and President Trump are completely unsubstantiated.

Basically, there is nothing novel or particularly substantive about this shiny political weapon.

Mika Brzezinski cuts interview with Michael Wolff over 'disgraceful' Trump-Haley affair rumor

Source: USA Today

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski abruptly ended an interview with author Michael Wolff during an interview on Morning Joe Thursday after Wolff denied having anything to do with a salacious and totally unsubstantiated rumor about an affair between President Trump and Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

"You might be having a fun time playing a little game dancing around this, but you're slurring a woman. It's disgraceful," Brzezinski told Wolff.

"Mika, again, she had been accused of nothing," Wolff responded. "She has decided to deny what she has not been accused of. Certainly, I didn't accuse her of this."

"Are you kidding?" Brzezinski asked. "You're on the set of Morning Joe. We don't B.S. here."

Why Isn't the Executive Branch EXECUTING Congress' Russia Sanctions?

I know, I know. The sanctions are being executed: Like they execute Death Row inmates. Pardon me if I don't laugh.

It is the job of the Executive to implement the decisions of the Congress. To not do so is Dereliction of Duty, and, last time I checked, unconstitutional.

How long will We, The People, abide this treason?

Republican senator opposes release of House GOP intel memo

Source: The Hill

MAX GREENWOOD - 01/31/18 08:22 AM EST

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Wednesday said that Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee should not release a memo alleging abuses by the FBI and the Justice Department if it contains classified information.

"We can't let the politics of the moment cloud our judgment," Kennedy said on CNN's "New Day." "If there's classified information in that memo, it shouldn't be released. If they release it anyway, to be fair, the Democrats ought to be allowed to release their memo."

"My strong preference would be not to have either side put spin on it, go through the original material and try to take out all the classified information," he added.

Kennedy's comments come two days after the House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines to release a GOP-authored memo accusing the FBI and Justice Department of misusing their authority to obtain a warrant to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
