Apple Watch saved a grandma's life by catching heart condition

"A Queens grandmother is crediting her smartwatch for saving her life.

Marie Bourque, 74, woke up in the middle of the night in October with an alert from her Apple Watch buzzing her wrist, informing her of an irregular heartbeat. She immediately got herself to the hospital — an act that saved her from a potential stroke or heart attack, had she waited too much longer."

My Apple watch is absolutly amazing - I can't imagine being without mine!!!

California Supreme Court says law requiring presidential candidates to turn over tax returns is inva

Source: CNN

"The California Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously ruled the state's new law that requires presidential candidates to disclose their tax returns for the previous five years to get on the ballot is invalid."

If we can't get this done in CA, it doesn't look promising for the rest of the country.
Of course, I expected it to be upheld and Trump would simply ignore the state since he had no chance of winning it.

I really didn't expect a unanimous ruling on this.

Any ideas on how they can amend this to pass scrutiny?

Preferred Podcast App for iPhone?

So I'm big into podcast and starting to have trouble keeping up with new episodes vs what I've already listened to.

I started with the Podcast app on the iPhone and it wasn't bad ... switched to Overcast and it doesn't seem to be any better, played around with Stitcher yesterday and it didn't seem as good as either of the other two.

Looking for a recommendation ... I need to pick one and just live with it.

If you have a favorite - I'd to know what it is and, if you don't mind, why you like it.

Thanks in Advance

I support Joe Biden ... He is correct on bi-partisan cooperation

No matter how much we hate the other side or the other people we are going to have to work with them where we have agreement to get things done.

I still expect our side to fight on issues where we don't agree -- but the bottom line is that be an absolutist is going to get our party, and our country, NOWHERE!

As much as we hate to admit it - there are millions of Americans that support the other guys. I'm not saying we should compromise on our core principals - but there are things we can agree on and move forward.

Recommended podcasts?

I just started getting into podcasts.

Anyone have any to recommend?

After the 2020 census ...

Which states do you expect to gain and lose seats?

How will gerrymandering affect the next set of House elections?

We need for Blue states to gain population and seats but I fear the movement from the Northeast to Texas and the south is not good for us.

What are your feelings?

Florida school massacre panel recommends arming teachers

My 2’ - Train them to secure the students and themselves, not turn into Rambo.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The panel investigating the Florida high school massacre recommended Wednesday that teachers who volunteer and undergo extensive background checks and training be allowed to carry concealed guns on campus to stop future shootings.

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission voted 13-1 to recommend the Legislature allow the arming of teachers, saying it’s not enough to have one or two police officers or armed guards on campus. Florida law adopted after the Feb. 14 shooting that left 17 dead allows districts to arm non-teaching staff members such as principals, librarians and custodians — 13 of the 67 districts do, mostly in rural parts of the state.

We need to start researching how to defeat a John Kasich - Nikki Haley ticket in 2020

Kasich hasn't stopped running even after dropping out in 2016 and I think Haley's departure is designed to free her up for fund-raising.

Trump will quell any impeachment talk by promising not to run for re-election.

Of course, he will declare himself to be winning and express a desire to get back to making zilions of dollars.
