If Trump's problem is that "Gulf Of Mexico" seems to exclude the USA

then calling it the Gulf of NORTH America is the only solution: it shares borders with the North American nations of the USA, Mexico, and Cuba. However, it doesn't exclude the USA: the Gulf is actually named after a regional civilization that existed centuries before the nation of Mexico did. So it's a moot issue -- and besides, wouldn't it go against Trump's anti-DEI stance?

I avoided a serious accident because I had time to see a Hummer swerving across the median

and heading straight toward me, and had time to ask myself, "Should I hit the gas or swerve?" Decided on doing the former because I was in the right-hand lane and had no traffic in front of me. With my eyes focused straight ahead, I heard rather then felt the Hummer hit me -- thankfully nowhere near hard enough to knock me off course.

The car's driver-side tail light was my only casualty (someone was taken to the hospital by helicopter). I chided myself for not having driven a little faster because it would have allowed me to emerge completely unscathed, but only until I realized that I had been on an overpass: If the Hummer had missed me completely, it could have gone through or over the railing and down to the road below.

Creating something worthwhile isn't SUPPOSED to be "fun"

"...It takes a lot of time (and) practice...(Y)ou need to get really good at an instrument or really good at a piece of production software..."

Well, yeah, duh dot com -- that's why it's CALLED "work."

To paraphrase the writer Dorothy Parker, "I hate the PROCESS of creating, but I love the OUTCOME of it." Whether you're trying to come up with a song, a photo, a photo book, a cake, a touchdown, a cost/benefit analysis, world peace, plumbing that no longer leaks, an illegal drug, or a tire rotation, ANYTHING you aim to create as well as possible requires work. It's the END PRODUCT for which you get to take pride, generate respect, and possibly earn money -- the destination, not the journey!

...Suno AI works like other popular generative AI tools, allowing users to generate music by writing text prompts describing the kind of music they want to hear. Also like many other generative AI tools, Suno was trained on heaps of copyrighted music it fed into its training dataset without consent, a practice Suno is currently being sued for by the recording industry...

And with all due respect to the music industry's reaction to AI music, shouldn't the actual music creators get an equal slice of the pie?

IS it merely a coincidence that AI can also stand for anti-intellectualism?

That's definite now -- DuhDon got LESS than 50% of popular the vote?

MORE people voted AGAINST DuhDon than FOR him? Then woot woot woot and happy trifecta -- that means we can JOIN him in bragging of his LOSING the popular vote THREE TIMES in a row!!!

Works for me

...Trump is not even getting all of the GOP vote (35% of the vote vs. 44% GOP voters)...(T)hat means...a large (percentage) of the GOP early vote is voting for Harris.

Well, duh dot com -- especially since I called this shot back in December (with an assist from Thomas Michael Crooks back in July).

With a week left, it is now time to forget the polls and get TO the polls...DON'T wait if you don't have to...VOTE if you haven't already!!!

I recently moved to a different county within New Jersey -- was I going to have a problem with voting in 2024

if I was not a 30-day legal resident of the county as of Election Day?

As a precaution, I arranged to move in during the last week of August instead of the first week of September, then went online to update my voter registration info and re-apply for mail-in balloting. About ten days later, I received, completed, and returned a mail-in ballot request form.

I began to worry when I got no immediate response, but figured that the smartest route to take would be waiting a full 30 days before trying to take any action. It turned out to be the right call -- my mail-in ballot turned up about ten days into October!

It certainly explains what happened in 2020

Posted by Rocknation November 2020:
"With a combination of overall higher turnout (despite the voter suppression attacks); most of Biden's votes being cast early or by mail; and only about just one third of the votes actually being cast ON Election Day, maybe there just weren't ENOUGH blue in-person machine ballots TO flip."

"Trump's (AND Biden's) 'new' votes ALL came from those who DIDN'T vote in 2016 due to being either too young or too apathetic. "

Nearly ten years ago this very week, Waters posted an open letter to the band Bon Jovi

explaining why they should cancel their Tel Aviv concert -- which had been public knowledge for the previous four months and was due to start within twenty-four hours.

At their concert, Bon Jovi dedicated the performance their song We Don't Run to Waters...and garnished it with an encore...

...(M)uted mics turns Trump's greatest strength into a weakness...If he won't be able to bully, big lie, ramble, or interrupt via hot mics, then Trump has lost the debate already. In fact, I think the very reason why Kamala asked for hot mics -- so publicly and so quickly -- is precisely because it would "force" Trump to "disagree" and insist on muted ones. Rope-a-dope, anyone?
