One Person, One Vote, One President, Senator, Congressperson, etc. etc. etc. - WTF is so hard

Looking back at the debacle of the 2016 election - where the USA looked like a banana republic in the eyes or the world where the person that got the most votes lost to the one that received the second most, by a 2.8 million plus vote difference, here we are all over again where the machinations of party politics (and stupidity) somehow decide that the person who got the most votes, still manages to lose in the antiquated caucus process (much like the electoral college).

It's 2020 already. Get rid of the pointy headed party hacks that keep trying to retain control of the masses because they've anointed themselves as knowing better than the people what is wanted or needed. After the embarrassment in Iowa on Tuesday, and the still ongoing drama of who has captured the SDE's - which sounds more like some form of STD to most people, it's clear that when you make the process so convoluted you will lose people in the near and long term.

And now you've got candidates that are thousands of votes apart - and, wait for it - another legendary face plant by the Democratic Party still attempting to figure out "who won?". The first major opportunity to highlight our candidates and give the country a first view of voter preference (albeit from a non-representative state as far as national demographics go), and instead we get people tripping all over themselves to insist "the process worked just fine." Yup, it sure did if what you mean is "let the people have their say", and then we will use some form of divination to really determine the results.

Just like Super Delegates, we always seem to have to have some backstop on the average guy or gal, because what do they know.

Enough already, as with 1992 - It's the Economy, Stupid, hard to believe in 2020 we can't KISS (Keep it Simple, Stupid).

Yes, One Person, One Vote, One President does have a familiar lilt to a 1930's slogan from Germany, but the former is the basis of democracy and the latter merely a mad man seeking legitimacy much like the current occupant in the WH who knows he didn't win the popular vote or "will of the people".

Is it time for Kirsten to follow Al Franken into self imposed retirement?

Now that we know Ms. Gillibrand sent a effusive letter to the NRA in 2008 looking forward to working with them for many years to come, isn't that just like the Al Franken photo on the plane, or the "hit job" by RW nutjobs saying Al touched them in a way only Al could. Or is all this fake news?

In any case if the letter can be verified, then one has to think perhaps Ms. Gillibrand needs to step away first from the campaign trail and second from her current office.

Amazing what happens when the Dems round up the circular firing squad as Kirsten did for Al, and all the collateral damage that comes from it.

HELP Ron Kind into retirement in 2020

It's time for Democrats to step up and support leadership. Ron Kind asked for his early retirement today by not supporting Nancy Pelosi. Let's help him by primarying him in 2020. Enough, Basta.

GOP should be afraid - very afraid - the WOMEN are winning and they are coming for you in November

Look for the cool Canadian air to permeate the U.S. in 4 short weeks with the fresh breath of women winning elections everywhere.

Take Quebec. Provincial elections last Monday saw 41.6% of women elected to the National Assembly - a record, and in June Ontario's provincial election saw a record 39.6% of women elected across all parties.

If we are going to save the country and Democracy we have to let the women lead.

Blue Wave coming to a state, district, county, and town near you.

REPEAL AND REPLACE - THE DAY AFTER THE BLUE TSUNAMI

Following the coming wave election in November 2018, the Democrats should put forward an aggressive program to restore the American middle class - much like the vaunted Contract On America back in 1994 that the CON's foisted on the unsuspecting public, only this time play for keeps and real action to benefit the majority of Americans.

ITEM 1 - REPEAL AND REPLACE the TAX CUTS AND JOB ACT OF 2017 - with "fair and balanced" tax cuts for the 0-80% of the population and, oops - tax increases for the upper 5%.

ITEM 2 - SECURE SOCIAL SECURITY (no cap on taxable earnings - and all the corporate exec "deferred" comp is taxed at time of grant)

ITEM 3 - SECURE MEDICARE

ITEM 4 - SINGLE PAYER HEALTH SYSTEM

Let's give Paul Ryan a great parting gift to "his legacy". REPEAL AND REPLACE - only this time for real.
