About Me
I am a fulltime chaperone to an aging pit-bull. She loves pigs-ears purchased from Stewerts Meat Market, long walks anywhere, feeding time and tummy rubs. We both enjoy disc golf, (golf with baskets instead of holes and fancy frisbees instead of golf balls), but for entirely different reasons. Fortunately for all she never acquired a taste for frisbees but she is a sucker for thrown rope-toys and balls. Her goal in life is to see an end to the nuisance that causes some toys to squeak when pressed by her chaperone. After the squeak has been eliminated, the toy is safe to be played with by anyone else because regardless of price it holds no further interest for her. Lastly: that is my real last name which means I can get away with calling myself a card carrying chick!
No, I am not the videographer for any of these, they were shot by various fans from various recent shows on Miss Stirlings current tour. I attended the Seattle show last week. If you are a fan, if you are on the fence about going to a show near you, let me tell you: GO! This makes my third Lindsey Stirling show in as many years, I assure you that this tour features her best work period!
There are only a few of her earlier songs played this tour, Crystalize and Elements are there from her first album. Shatter Me from her second album is there too and added below-note that Lindsey sings the opening. As Lindsey points out often enough, singing is not one of her talents but give her credit for doing so in front of her fans.
I hope that there are at least a couple of Lindsey Stirling fans here at DU to enjoy this....if so let me know and I will try to dig up a few more videos from this tour.
This last one is 'Gavi's Song', it is about her friend and original keyboard player Jason Gaviati. Gavi, developed an aggressive cancer and passed away November 2015 while the band was on tour.
My freind lives in a trailer out in my back yard. He has no source of income currently although he does under the table handiwork when and where he can find it. He is 60 years old, he has never had medical insurance. Furthermore he is very stubborn, (cranky old fart) and never takes advice from freinds.
A few days ago he was sitting on the dock of a nearby lake fishing. While fishing he left his feet in the water and they got horribly sunburnt. Predictably he refused any advice we had (get to an ER) and figured to tough out the burn.
The next day his feet swelled up to the point his ankles disappeared. The swelling is down but the blisters that covered the entire tops of both feet have ruptured. Both feet look horrible-he can not walk because of this. IMO he needs medical attention. He claims that he is ineligible for any medical attention.
I'll let this OP soak for a bit but what i hope for is advice. We live in Washington State. What resources can he actually take advantage of? Is there any coverage from the ACA that he can ask for? If so will he get charged for not signing up for it before all this happened to him?
Not seeking medical advice here, IMO he needs to get to a doctor and I want to present him with options. Thanks
This video was published to YouTube yesterday. Although the meaning is stated in the opening, some viewers responded that they did not 'get it'. A fan who did 'get it' put it best: "If you are brave enough to step into the arena, the only judge in the audience that matters is you".
Tonight thru early morning if the skys are clear in your area you might want to step outside for a nice meteor shower. "The Eta Aquarids meteor shower will peak on May 5-7 in 2016. A new Moon on May 6 will create favorable conditions for observers to see the shower. Astronomers suggest watching the shower just before dawn."
