Best Late-Night music ever: Talk Talk's last 2 albums...

Closer to "In a Silent Way" than to the 80's synth-pop classics they are known for ("It's My Life, etc...) "Spirit of Eden" and "Laughing Stock" are albums you have to turn the lights off for... and prepare to be amazed.

I could find only "Spirit of Eden" in its entirety on YouTube

You'll have to piece "Laughing Stock" together yourself, but...

Asked my mailman how he is going to cast his vote. Got more than I asked in return

He seemed to have faith in vote-by-mail. Then, in a "I shouldn't tell you this, but..." moment...

WTF??? They raided the USPS to pay for the stimulus? He says yes.

Talk to your mail carrier if you get a chance and see if you can corroborate this.

Personal assistant arrested in grisly killing of tech CEO Fahim Saleh

Source: Boston Globe

The personal assistant of a young tech entrepreneur who was found decapitated and dismembered in his Manhattan apartment this week was arrested early Friday and is expected to be charged in the grisly killing, according to two officials briefed on the matter.

The entrepreneur, Fahim Saleh, 33, was discovered dead Tuesday afternoon by his sister inside his $2.25 million condo in a luxury building on the Lower East Side, police said. She had gone to check in on him after not hearing from him for about a day.

Detectives believe that the motive for the killing stemmed from Saleh having discovered that the assistant had stolen tens of thousands of dollars from him, despite the fact that Saleh had not reported the man and had set up what amounted to a repayment plan for him to return the money, one of the officials said.

Just got openly threatened in a Bernie thread on FB

Late into a debate in which I attempt to unify dems in the event that the dreaded Biden gets the nod.

Mike Russell: Someone who rocks the boat is thrown overboard. Unless you have a good captain, soon you have no crew. Sailing requires teamwork.

DK: Absolutely. Please elaborate.

Mike Russell Victim mentality vs. champion mentality.

DK: Please explain in the context of this thread.

DK: We don't give a fuck about you until you say something of actual substance, Mike Russet.

DK: So what, Potato boy? It's getting late.

Mike Russell Go home now, troll.

DK: You have not said a single substantiate thing and I am the troll. OK. You are the potato troll. Put up or shut up.

DK: MIKE RUSSET: POTATO TROLL. Thank you. Good night thread.

Mike Russell we should meet in person XXXXXX, pm me your address.

DK: Mike Russell I don't think you can afford the plane ticket, potato boy. Buh Bye.

Recommendations for voter guide? (Santa Ana, CA)

Some of the statewide propositions are pretty confusing. Little help?

So sick of so-called lefty political pundits trying to be "witty" and "of soo-peer-iorr" intellect while they sniff their own farts and say stupid shit like:

Rachel Maddow: "It seems that Lindsay Graham has po-litical am-neesia" NO HE DOES NOT! He knows exactly what the duck he is doing. For duck's sake stop with the wit and whip out the real stuff.

Robert Reich: "So let me get this straight: The GOP blocked President Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland and yet they want to push through... blah, blah-dy-o-blah-blah" THERE IS NOTHING TO GET STRAIGHT AND PLEASE DON'T WHIP OUT YOUR DRY-ERASE BOARD! We are witnessing a coup d'etat in progress! Treat it as such.

Pick a hill worth dying on, America

There is no question anymore for those not deluded by supremacy or religion or self-preservation: this thing currently steering us is an abomination.
It is an abandonment of empathy, a rejection of personal liberty, a human rights violation, a squandering of radiant lives.
There is nothing redemptive or life-giving in it.
The only question remaining is if you’re okay with it—and you get to answer for yourself, by your movement or your inaction.

In these very seconds, you and I get to decide whether our children and grandchildren will inherit something beautiful or grotesque. It’s really that simple, that elemental, that close.

This is not about waiting for God to do something, or a political party, or a social media celebrity, or some faceless people you imagine will rescue you.

No, friend, there is no superhero flying into save the day—you need to save it.
