Mueller told Justice Dept. three weeks ago he couldn't reach a conclusion on obstruction

By: CNN Newsource

Roughly three weeks ago the special counsel's team told Attorney General Bill Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein that Robert Mueller would not be reaching a conclusion on obstruction of justice, according to a source familiar with the meeting.

The source said that conclusion was "unexpected" and not what Barr had anticipated.

The information also means that Barr had a head start on developing his analysis on obstruction of justice well before Mueller delivered his report to the attorney general on Friday. Rosenstein's office has also been heavily involved in overseeing the investigation since its inception.

The meeting wasn't about obstruction alone, the source added, and the special counsel's team asked for more time to finish their work, which was granted. The source described it as purely administrative.

This story is breaking and will be updated.

Federal Prosecutors in California Are Now Looking Into Trump's Inaugural Committee

Federal investigators in California are currently looking into allegations of misconduct and corruption by members of President Donald Trump‘s inaugural committee.

According to The New York Times, the U.S. Department of Justice is currently probing “the business and political dealings” of top Trump fundraiser Elliot Broidy–who allegedly attempted to use his close relationship with the 45th president’s campaign to promote his own business interests.

Per a prior report by the Times:

After Mr. Trump’s election, Mr. Broidy quickly capitalized, marketing his Trump connections to politicians and governments around the world, including some with unsavory records, according to interviews and documents obtained by The New York Times. Mr. Broidy suggested to clients and prospective customers of his Virginia-based defense contracting company, Circinus, that he could broker meetings with Mr. Trump, his administration and congressional allies.

Los Angeles-based investigators are part of this ongoing investigation and have raised specific questions about the inaugural committee, per anonymous sources cited by the outlet who are said to be familiar with the matter.

Please stop the misogynistic blame game campaign against Stevie Nicks

Lindsey Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac. Since the news broke people have been blaming Stevie Nicks for his dismissal even referencing the #metoo movement as her motivation. While the band has issued a terse statement neither Buckingam nor Nicks have commented. Is this just the good old misogyny machine at work? Is Lindsey Buckingham, formerly of Fleetwood Mac: Rock’s biggest jerk or misunderstood genius as the Washington Post asked in this article? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2018/04/11/lindsey-buckingham-formerly-of-fleetwood-mac-rocks-biggest-jerk-or-misunderstood-genius/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.d67953b637e9

Please let us know if you feel that Stevie is being given a bad rap, if Lindsey is in fact a jerk or if you are just #teamStevie. Please note this is a petition in support of Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie who is now also being criticized for Buckigham's dismissal and to highlight and disarm misogyny in the rock and roll culture.

BREAKING: Second set of articles of impeachment to be filed against Donald J. Trump in Congress.

A Democrat intends to introduce impeachment articles against Donald Trump over the President's response to a violent rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

“I have expressed great concerns about President Trump’s ability to lead our country in the Resolution of No Confidence (HRes 456) that I introduced in July with 29 of my colleagues,” Representative Steve Cohen said in a statement. “However, after the President’s comments on Saturday, August 12 and again on Tuesday, August 15 in response to the horrific events in Charlottesville, I believe the President should be impeached and removed from office.”

In his statement on Thursday, Mr Cohen lambasted the President for not “unequivocally condemning hateful actions by neo-Nazis, white nationalists and Klansmen following a national tragedy.”

“There are no good Nazis. There are no good Klansmen,” he added.

Mr Cohen, a Tennessee liberal, is the highest ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice. His declaration that he will try to get Mr Trump removed from office follows a similar effort by Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman.
