Kissinger went to China to woo it away from Russia.
The optics, North and South Korea getting friendly, is the result of things China is doing. You will hear a lot of noise, this is all China.
China got South Korea into the Silk Road Initiative, at Vladivostok, this is simply the result of that.
I expect the talking heads will get told about this, from people knowledgeable abut foreign affairs soon enough.
But it does slowly removes us from the equation. China is running the table. (A pool metaphor that means we won't even get to play)
