So,went to my local country club for an enjoyable Sunday morning of golf and got put in with a group of guys I had not seen there before.
All was fine for a few holes with just normal small talk about the start of football season when one of the guys suddenly says "did you see any of the convention last week,I can`t believe they think that n####r should be reelected".
One of the other guys laughed and said something about him being an affirmative action experiment.
The third guy just stood there looking stunned and I exploded saying how the fuck dare you use such racist words against our President!
I told them they ought to be ashamed and faux news inspired hatred like that had no place in our society.

They looked at me like I had two heads and said good luck with being a socialist but we are here to play golf.
I told them to go ahead,I would follow.

They went to the tee and hit while I hung back.
When it was his turn the third guy said "I will hang back and play with him (me)"
He told me after they had gone that he could not believe such racism still exists but guess it is what a repuke has to be.
He is now going to be voting for President Obama I believe!

Yes,I know it can be depressing at times,the right wing owns the courts and almost all national media,they have stolen several elections since 1980 and are virtually promising a civil war if they dont get their way.

Even with all that every poll taken shows that progressive views and programs are huge majority's so I ask....who is going to keep fighting and who is going to slink away.

Did Senator Kennedy ever quit,did FDR?
Whether it be single payer healthcare,a fair tax code to pay for it and other social programs or an end to the USA war machine is worth the battle?

I know we have corrected some things such as slavery but even then racism clearly remains and it took almost 200 years to get the civil rights act passed.

I posted this in another thread but am curious.
I just cant help but wonder if it is part of a plan to break up the national and global wide connection of occupy.

I mostly lurk here and read the news and insight from members but was just reading a thread about those using the safty net and I realized that our problems with the economy could be solved overnight.

We need once and for all with taxation return this nations wealth to its rightful owners not so they can spend it on our overlords cheaply made goods but to provide a universal safty net for all the population.
Once the basic needs of shelter,food and care are met imagine the inovation and invention that can begin.
Have a great idea for a product that will better our lives?no problem you can work on it and perfect it without worry of starving.
Billions of dollars are just sitting in bank accounts doing nothing while we muddle along.
Instead of shrinking the safty net we need to expand and enlarge it.
Do that and watch the economy explode.
