Just sucked up 6 inches of water/leaves/other gack from the basement stairwell where water was coming in very much uninvited.

I bought it the last time we had stupid amounts of rain
(and three inches of standing water in the basement)

I got it at the Sniper Depot. As the guy in the orange apron was getting a pallet of the things down and cutting away the shrink wrap, another shopper who had joined the gaggle gathered round like vultures surrounding a lion pride's kill asked "How much are they?" To which I replied instantly "Does it matter?" (a tip o' the hat to Wednesday Addams)

Prior to this I had a tiny 2.5 gallon wet/dry. This monster can suck up 30 gallons of water in about as many seconds! (insert Tim Allen grunting)

Real Entitlement Mentality

Normally when presented with idiocy of this caliber, I simply shake my head in pity and walk away.
This time, the "information" presented is demonstrably dangerous.

Tennessee GOP lawmaker, Sen. Stacey Campfield said this today (26 January, 2012) (from Raw Story):

“Most people realize that AIDS came from the homosexual community,” he told Michelangelo Signorile, who hosts a radio program on SiriusXM OutQ. “It was one guy screwing a monkey, if I recall correctly, and then having sex with men. It was an airline pilot, if I recall.”

“My understanding is that it is virtually — not completely, but virtually — impossible to contract AIDS through heterosexual sex.”

Wow.
That's breathtaking.
If this were 1981 I could almost understand such ignorance, but today?
Any DU Tennesseans need to flood this guy's mailbox with the CORRECT information.
