I would do some serious research into cannabis oil.

There are remarkable stories coming out all the time,
from skin to lung to brain cancers being cured. Not
quackery; there will be studies.

Research, research, research, research. Learn as
much as you can, take heart every day you have.

If it's not your appointment time, there will be a way.

I wish you much strength and courage, I'm sure it is
terrifying; but be confident the strength and courage
are already there in you.

They'll be coming to your aid; they are your friends,
your own, inside of you; and they love you.
They will help you.

Not so helpful all the noisy neighbors in our heads;
but the ones in our hearts, seek out those friends.
Help and wisdom is there.

I think it should be "nopeacenojustice"

people have to have a certain measure of peace,
and be at peace with their own conscience, in order
to even SEE how to get there -- to Justice.

We project our own inner chaos onto every situation,
and everybody else does too. Nobody sees clearly,
AND nobody takes responsibility for generating their
own unhappiness.

It HAS to start there -- with each person, one at a time.
Get clear first, be in peace - then act. The peace will
not be a byproduct of actions. It is inside all of us,
already. It is such a power, such a strength, it needs to
be discovered, and used.

(sorry to interject.. resume thread)

I would bet any amount of money that Bernie is thinking all of this through VERY carefully.

There is a distinct absence of political delusion, arrogance,
egomaniacal ambition. He is being very careful with this
decision. It's not about whether the big money is going to
back him. He wants to know if the people want this message
and this kind of change. That will be his fuel. I doubt he
would be a spoiler, give the Republicans and Kochs any more
advantage.

New baby

I have lost two beloved cats in the past few months, it has left
me with kind of a big hole in my heart; I'm sure many of you know
and understand. It is probably too soon and I am utterly impractical
but but but today this happened. Well, it didn't just happen; but today
she came home with me to stay. She is supposedly nine weeks
but seems younger. Not yet named. Have been brainstorming.
She is so tiny.
thank you for your oohs and awws

I would like to give this post a thousand recs.

Without compassion, patience, a willingness to listen,
and the humility to learn something new -- for example,
that the other person is human -- the virulent anti-anti-vaxxers
will never progress in their quest to save humankind.

Not politically, medically, scientifically, spiritually, atheistically,
or otherwise. The arrogance in the end weighs them down.

John Boehner Destroyed By Forbes In Scathing Smack Down – A Legacy Of Disgrace

The noted conservative website Forbes.com published a scathing indictment of Speaker John Boehner in the wake of the growing scandal surrounding his invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to speak before Congress.

The article, entitled Bibi Netanyahu — aka ‘The Republican Senator From Israel’ — May Have Made A Fatal Political Mistake offers an in-depth analysis of fallout in Israel over the controversy, predicting the Netanyahu may very well lose his long-standing control of Israel as a result of the fallout from his diplomatic FUBAR.

The article begins by accusing Speaker Boehner of attempting “to create two conflicting foreign policies for the United States—one pursued by the President and the other pursued by the Congress.”

After explaining concerns for Netanyahu at home and the possibility that “Netanyahu’s desire to interfere with American policy while seeking to bolster his re-election campaign, may turn out to be the very political screw-up that will allow the joint ticket forged by the Labor-Hatnuah political parties to bring an end to Netanyahu’s long reign atop the Israeli government,” the article goes on to consider Boehner’s actions.

I have no idea, my memories are mixed up.

It's likely I became aware of him as an entertainer at
the same time the song came out. It seemed to me an
extraordinary time and for the first time I was envious of
the beautiful black people. Suddenly there were so many
celebratory expressions of African heritage, hair, colors,
being black, being proud.

In contrast I was descended from primarily pasty white and
emotionally repressed Europeans. There was no color, only
beige and gray. "Say it loud, I'm beige and I'm proud" just
didn't ring.

Fortunately it was the sixties, when even white people
became colorful.

Need a bit of extra cash? Seriously.

Consider 'donating' plasma.

I put 'donating' in quotes because they pay you for
your plasma. It in fact is a multimillion dollar industry
but it's also a lifesaving fluid. A win-win.

Where I live, there is an offer for new donors: the
first 5 donations they pay $50 each time.

Yesterday was my first session and the place was
busy, so I was there for several hours; but I walked
out with fifty bucks, and my cats were glad to have
some food. Tomorrow I will go again and it will
fill up my gas tank. People can donate twice a week.
After the first visit, it takes less than an hour.. not
a bad hourly wage. Even if it's beyond the first
five donations, they still pay $20 per donation.

You can continue indefinitely as long as you have
no disqualifying factors. This is in Albuquerque, NM
but I am sure there are comparable programs in every
city. This is the place http://www.bplplasma.com/
but there are other companies as well.

A fairly easy bit of cash, and also helps people who
need plasma. Plus you get a free checkup and blood
screening.

I received a promotional offer post card months
ago, and have intended to check it out since then.
I kept putting it off for stupid reasons. It was easy
and even a nice experience, the staff was great,
there were a lot of good people donating. It
was a sweet slice of humanity, people who need
money.

People's prejudices go sooooooo deep, even in the best of people.

White liberal people who grew up trusting the police,
who remember when police were good for the neighborhood,
and who haven't stayed in touch enough outside their
own worlds to see what has actually happened and is
happening. They naturally sympathize with the young
white cop who appears to have been bruised and
terrified.

White liberal people who have probably had only one or
two nice black people in their lives, but no real exposure
to an African American community, or the realities of urban
life -- but into whose consciousness has filtered years and
years of fear of young black men, especially on a dark street.

So much of the discussion is coming from kneejerk &
biased point of view. It's not our fault. We only can see
what we can see. But we always have the opportunity to
try and see more. In more directions, also: to try and
see what others are seeing. Facts are made up of one
gazillion perspectives. We can be learning from each
other, all the time.
