How to update your password and log in
Democratic Underground was vandalized by a hacker on election day, forcing us to take the site offline. We spent a week performing a security review of our software, and then opened the site up to Star Members only while we continued to test our servers and software. Now, Democratic Underground is open again to all visitors.
If you have not logged in since the hack, you must update
your password
We do not believe that member passwords were compromised during the hack, but out of an abundance of caution we are asking all of our members to change their passwords before logging in. To verify that you are the person responsible for your account, you will need to provide the username and email address associated with your DU account. After you have entered your username and email address, you will be emailed a temporary password along with instructions to log in to the site. After logging in, you will be prompted to select a new password of your choice.
