Liberals tend to be smart. But intelligence comes with its own hurdles. We get stuck in intellectual competition. And perfectionism. Also, counter-reactions to authority.
Makes it hard for individuals to put down disagreement, work together and support a leader and an overarching mission.(we don't seem to have an organized idea of a mission...too busy arguing about whose issue is most dire.)
