One more thing I've learned is that if you're asked if you want to get updates and say "yes", it can take you to the latest version of the free trial period only. This is a new trick, and I got caught.
All you can do if that happens is uninstall and reinstall the version you want.
I think Malwarebytes is excellent, but I have Webroot Anti-Virus installed, and it catches most everything that comes up, so I don't feel I need to pay for Malwarebytes as well. I just run it about once a week, and sometimes it comes up with a few things that Webroot has missed.
