Im black and Im ready for BLM to interrupt Republican candidates! Im sick of them harassing Democrats. Why not schedule meetings and discuss the platform. That is more adult like. If the candidate ducks them then interrupt them. I bet Republicanw wont let them in period! Give people a chance to speak and create lanes for movements like BLM!

Hello all. I am new to DU. I'm overjoyed being here. Im a black female thirty-something. I live in Chicago. I am very interested in becoming a part of our government. Politics has held my interest for at least 15 years. I really want to hold office one day. So if you know any people here in Chicago willing to school me let me know. If you have any advice for me please let me know. I'm a Democrat and I love being one! I feel we all can live in this place and still succeed. Thanks in advance.

I agree with you all the way. It's like women should be seen and not heard. To be honest, women are smarter than men to me. We deserve to be treated like we do matter. We need more women standing in higher positions. Our visibility needs to be acknowledged. We matter!

Being a black person I hear alot of cries saying racism. Sometimes its unnecessary and sometimes its real. This time I know its very REAL. She shouldve left out on her own. She shouldve. But she didn't. How many of us bucked authority figures in our youth? I know I did. So I can't hold that against her. But I never got assaulted like that by anybody! She began hitting him after he put her in a chokehold. Then he slung her around like she was not human. He should be fired. Her parents should sue. Police have to understand what if their kid was treated like that. They would be pissed. It was excessive period!

I enjoyed the skit on SNL about the debate. But I think it will hurt Bernie in the long run because showing his Jewish heritage will make folks hate him. We all know how people view Jews. But I don't have a problem with him.

Now, I'm not sure of anything regarding this cops death. Too many stories and not one suspect. Did he commit suicide? I know his family said he didn't but Sandra Blands family said the same thing. Of course he wouldn't tell anyone what he was thinking. Descriptions of suspects vary too. I don't have a beef with cops but they aren't above doing dirt just to get one of theirs out of the line if fire. If he was killed i hope they catch the person (s). I hope they get the real killer and not just a anybody and John Burge him or them.

I voted for Quinn because anybody who's willing to be paid a dollar year is dangerous. I tried telling these ignorant ass people but noooo I'm the crazy lady. He wanted the job to get his friends in and take over Chicago. But he shouldve known that democrats won't allow it. Currently he is trying to sell the Thompson Center. It's right across the street from City Hall. No one has child care help and medical marijuana is stopped in its tracks. I looked at people crazy when they complain about Rauner. I ask did they vote. All the replies i got were nos. I then call them idiots and I walk off. Never trust a person who doesnt take the money. Those kinds of individuals are dangerous.
