(3,363 posts)this unprecedented level of greed and evil. They'll get voted out, but I think they want that at this point while they retire comfortably with their millions.

(51,626 posts)Especially Collins, Corker and Flake!
Lawrence O'Donnell said that when the Dems get the majority they can get rid of this corrupt, shitty, GOP,
rip off of Americans.
Dems had better use this on the campaign trail in 2018 and run with it! The Tax Scam, Healthcare and Russia should motivate people to vote Dem.
Take the gloves off and be ready to fight!
Anarchy in the USA?

(19,567 posts)Im so screwed out of the box. Yeah, were (mostly) all screwed down the road, but Im their literal sacrificial lamb from the beginning.
Which is kind of extra messed up since Im an independent contractor because of their messed up policies. Its certainly not by my own choice.

(19,567 posts)Im just unfortunate enough to be in the first round of double whammy. 2019 will be very tough on me.
In 2019 (after midterms) we should see the ACA victims coming out, though. Theres a lot of them, and many, if not most dont even know of this part of the tax bill.

(21,506 posts)By the time the water starts boiling most of these frogs will already be cooked.
Hopefully our party put's the adult pants on and calls this crap out loudly and repeatedly for the con job it is.

(19,567 posts)Even still, theres only so much that can be done to repair these permanent tax cuts for the wealthy. As we all know, someone has to pay the bills and the working class is the one holding the bag here.
Beyond a real super majority and both houses and the presidency, were screwed. Gerrymandering pretty much prevents this mega trifecta from being a reality. Not to mention 2020 is another census year.

(297,611 posts)hear this, herding.
I'm thinking I'll be one.. down the road a piece for a variety of issues.
Here's to a miracle happening.. it could.

(19,567 posts)Most of us will feel this eventually. Im just kind of pouting tonight because of how I get hit twice in its first round. Im being self centered when I stop and think about it, but Im kind of angry right now.
Were going to pull through, Cha. All we need is a blue wave and well be ok. A big FU to the both sides are the same and the career dividers. I personally despise each and everyone of them tonight.
Cha
(297,611 posts)you have a right to be concerned about your own health.
We can't help others if we're incapacitated.

(19,567 posts)Im just hoping people begin to realize theyre about to lose their healthcare with this mess.
I already am paying out the nose for what Trump did to destabilize the market. My insurance was within what I used to pay under my previous employer last year. This year, yeah it was a whole different animal. (I live in a red state)
I helped a person signup for the first time on the 15th and they were appalled at the fact that they had only two choices of carriers. Luckily for them the cheaper of the two was within their network. Otherwise theyd have been paying $800+ a month for similar coverage from the other provider with a much more limited network in their area.
Seriously, two providers to choose from here anymore. Thats been my personal experience and my experience with everyone Ive assisted, or just spoken to. All thanks to the GOP destabilizing the market. I had maybe two handfuls to choose from last year and they were all mostly competitive packages. I cringe to imagine what next year will be. I expect to be priced out either then or at the very best the following year.
Cha
(297,611 posts)who voted for this atrocity to happen can get woke when it affects them personally, and do something about it at the polls.
I knew this was coming but until now it was in the back of my mind.. now it's front and center to try and not worry about.
I cannot wait until the pendulum swings back in the other direction where's there's help and hope instead of kicking people to the curb and trying to kill them off by the millions.
I wish the very best for you, herding cats.

(772 posts)I could afford was absolutely useless. Would be a waste of my money to pay for. My other choice was a bcbs policy that would cost over half my salary to afford, even with a generous subsidy. So...no insurance for us in '18.
Wish us a healthy new year!? 😷

(51,678 posts)There, I fixed it for you.
Senate Dems had NOTHING to do with this abomination.
Egnever
(21,506 posts)Not sure why.
If it will make you feel better I am happy to edit the OP to put the vote total in. Though I don't think many reading here thought the vote went any differently than it did.
SunSeeker
(51,678 posts)In situations where it was a strict party line vote, we need to be clear who is responsible.
Egnever
(21,506 posts)It wasn't the house that passed it it was the Senate.
On a board dedicated to politics? That has been talking almost exclusively about this the past few days? With nearly minute to minute updates on who is for or against?
Sorry if it offends you but I don't really think any clarity was needed here at DU beyond which chamber it passed in.
SunSeeker
(51,678 posts)If we can't get our message straight here, how are we going to get it straight out in the real world?
Why is it so hard for you to just say "Senate GOP passed it"?
Egnever
(21,506 posts)I'll try harder to stay on message next time I am watching something happen and posting about it in real time.
Not a single Democrat voted for it.
It was passed strictly by Republicans.
Hopefully that helps keep everyone here better informed.
