Democrats Need To Be More Like General Patton And Less Like Neville Chamberlain.

I have always been a Democrat and always will be. Third party will never work in US right now. Having said thus the Democrats need to be like General Patton. He kicked the enemies ass and never apologized for it. He believed in making the enemy pay and not his troops. How many Democrats have been sacrificed for the high road? Was sacrificing Senator Frankin worth that high road. Sadly the Democrats are still acting like Neville Chamberlain believing you have to keep the peace at all costs. Certainly he had high goals to avoid war, but he was dealing with a monster. The Democrats are dealing with GOP monsters and Trump. And the GOP is at war with the nation and Democrats. The GOP would make being Democrat a crime if they could. And they would physically lock Democrats out of Congress if they would.

Recent events with the GOP shows how holding fire works. Negotiating or cooperating with Trump and GOP is like Chamberlain negotiating with Hitler. You lose every time. They lie every time.

Now they want bipartisanship. Under that Trojan horse they are going to throw legislation with poison in it and the hammer the Democrats for not participating in drinking the poison. We know what the scheme is already. It is always a trap to talk to them.

and mow down everything in their path. Democrats of today take the "high road" and become fragmented and disunited. I hate saying this but the only thing today's Republicans understand or react to is a baseball bat bashed into their heads.

Does not make sense to have that hidden. . Chamberlain allowed himself the be duped. He was a decent person and really wanted to stop a war. He simply miscalculated because he so badly wanted to trust that peace could be kept by negotiating with Hitler. He has been widely criticized which is understandable. In the end he was doing what he believed would work. Sadly it was obvious he would fail. That fact does not diminish his intentions or his commitment as a human being.

We can't negotiate with terrorists--especially RW terrorists--and Democrats should not work with Trump at all, but rather, get in his face, dare him to deny the most sordid allegations--up to and including the (rumored) murder of a 12-year-old, and the like, in order to end his reign of terror.

War has been unofficially declared on Americans by a foreign adversary through their Republican agents. We are being attacked through mafia methods, traitorous acts, and foreign subterfuge on a non-stop basis. The rule of law does not work when the other side does not recognize it or play by any rules.

We need to toss nicety out the window and fight back. The fabric of our society and our very lives depends on fighting back, repelling their advances, and getting our country back at all costs. That is not going to happen by being polite with these crooks and thugs.

For some reason our leadership decided it was a good idea to work with Trump on the debt ceiling. I'm not sure why, because when they did, they helped out the GOP big time.

Next up they've been helping the GOP and Trump by passing these short term spending bills. They need to call out the republicans for not having a long term budget plan, and show how the tax scam piles on the debt and wrecks our future. They should have repeated over and over "We cant have tax reform until we have a long term budget plan". FORCE THE ISSUE.

Lastly, they need to be prepared with their own plan, to fight back against the "democrats wont work with us and dont have a plan" rebuttal. It doesn't need to be a 400 page PhD thesis, just a one pager that outlines our version of tax reform and budget priorities. Say something like "we agree with tax cuts for the middle class, but we want to offset those with increases on those over $1M. Instead of giving corporations tax cuts, we propose rules that would force corporations to bring offshore money back, or else lose protections of being a US corporation. This will generate more revenue and bring us closer to a balanced budget.

KISS = KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.

EDIT: For those who say we are in the minority and cant do anything, YES WE CAN. They still need 60 votes in the senate for most legislation. Can't do that without our support.

Most substantive votes are party line. In the 1970s, about 60% of votes were party line, today 90% are. Exactly what do you want them to do?

It's more than a little mind boggling that people are under the impression that Democrats aren't working as hard as they can against Republicans.

I guess they could tell them to go to hell as you've done to me, but that isn't particularly effective.

I think you miss the point. Playing nice with this GOP will never work and it has not worked. When you are dealing with these crazy psychopaths there is no way to negotiate or play at being bipartisan. They use it against you every time. It is about going war with them and anyone who supports them.

It has not always been this way. Look at FDR, Truman, JFK, LBJ, and Bill Clinton. Tough FIGHTERS! The Dems need to get CLEAR again. Get STRONG again. And take Trump, the R's, and their SHITTY ROTTEN CORRUPT HORRID POLICIES TO THE WOODSHED!

The the hell on OFFENSE and STAY THERE!
