Looks like Scott's 'exclusive' is about Trump donors funding Mueller/FBI critic, Rep. DeSantis (R)

A new report details how one Republican Congressman benefited from a surge in national donations from a group of 15 of the President’s largest donors over the last eighteen months, before turning into Trump’s very public attack dog, seeking delegitimize the FBI and become a Fox News darling.

Representative Ron DeSantis is a member of the Republican Tea Party’s Freedom Caucus, but his donor list is missing the kinds of Koch Brothers cash one might expect, instead filled with cash from major Trump donors which Politico calls his “billionaire kingmakers.”

However, concluding that Trump’s tweet caused top GOP donors to fill DeSantis’ coffers inverts the relationship between the two events and omits what’s being shown to the President on Fox News.

I assisted Democratic Coalition co-founder Scott Dworkin in preparing his first of his “Follow the Money” series of reports entitled, “Congressman DeSantis Funded By Trump’s Largest Donors,” upon which this story is based.

...most news is repetitive, most stories built off of previous reports.

The dollars discussed are nearly a million. Not a small matter.

I bet republicans wouldn't be so dismissive if the shoe was on the other foot.

Their moneyed interests will make sure to protect their man in the White House so of course they will fun Republicans willing to go after Mueller and the FBI.

...not when it involves the president of the United States.

I'm surprised at all of the complaints about repetitiveness or highlighting obvious truths here. Amplifying information is a primary function of resistance movements. I'm wary of attempts to dismiss these efforts.

Hell, the Republicans ran wild on the Clinton Foundation for months with considerably less than this. The fact that a TeaBagger is getting financing from the same corrupt assholes who gave us Trump isn't a tough pair of dots to connect.

...most of the critics' reasoning runs counter to most of what we do on this discussion board.

I'd agree that Scott's reporting may not be ready for prime-time in many cases, but he's doing some heavy lifting which I'd like to think would be appreciated here. His efforts are more of a collaboration than a trim and efficient network production.

I hope folks don't fall into their own pit of judgment and undermine the dynamism and collective wisdom of our discussions.
