(18,402 posts)Everyone who thinks that saying something scathing about an opposition figure on the Internet, on TV, on Twitter, or in an op-ed (or here on this site) is tantamount to winning something ... that you've "demolished," or "slayed," or "destroyed" the other person. When all you've done is, well, say something scathing. It doesn't change anything, and it's not an accomplishment. It's not resistance, either. It's just words.

(3,435 posts).,they lose momentum because repubs could care less and it does nothing to change their opinion or policies. What will, boycott? Labor strike, consumer boycott at the very corporations that fund their elections. We witnessed first hand how pressure from advertisers to pull out of program such as Orielly, or Fox' CEO Roger Ailes, pressure from viewers threats of boycotting products.
Yet, we can't approach this haphazardly, randomly boycott..it must be a systematically concerted effort from every group who participated in woman's March last year, those groups who organized the wallstreet movement..every group who advocates for social, economic and environmental justice all in a concerted effort..all must participate...the struture is already in place, advancd technology allows for seemless coordination ..non violent protest through economic boycott is the next step in the resistance. Ghandi, MLK, Cesar Chavez models of resistance affected change.

(16,423 posts)I am not kidding. They say horrible things and when you complain, they ridicule you for being "triggered".
I was once told in an online-forum that I'm not allowed to complain about an anti-semitic joke because I'm not a Jew.
