When I lived in North Dakota I always wore a base layer, boots, a hat and gloves. I hated the winters there and have no wish to acclimate myself to that ever again.

Here in Florida at 40 and windy and dropping, our ancient snowbird mobile home's bad-weather core (minus the large sunroom) is small and mostly easy to keep warm. Except for the floor, which really needs a lot more insulation. In the phrase "bundle up," the key word this week is "up." Get them up.

Hope power's back fast.
