Because OMG what if we can’t get to the store for a week! As a survivor of The Blizzard of ‘78, I find this perfectly reasonable.

Less likely to happen these days because people are generally more prepared.

My only frustration with this storm is that tonight is the night I normally do my shopping before my kids come back to me for a week. So it's a stock up night regardless but I gotta deal with the panicked humanity

Here we have Bible Belt snow removal. "God put it there, let God take it away."

I have learned to stock up ahead of time. but that's mostly because I walk to the grocery store and I am not amused by walking in truly crappy weather.

Trying to decide if I should stay in northern MA - more snow or go down to the Cape - more wind.

6. Looks like more snow for coastal MA than inland this time. Higher winds at the coast as well.

Inland's getting smacked but the coast could be brutal, especially with the ice being flung about in high winds along with other items. Greater chance of power loss.

9. I just checked Yarmouth and it looks like primarily rain and snow mix - high temps predicted

in the low 30s. But agree with you about losing power and that is why I am debating about whether I should stay or go.

But hey, we know weather here. Give it a few minutes and it'll change - likely for the worse!
