(19,956 posts)Bannon came on the campaign in August, so wasn't there for the early meetings with the Russians. Fine. However, he was connected to Cambridge Analytica, who may have used stolen voter roll data, as supplied by the Rooskis. Is he super confident that he is in the clear ? And let's not forget the Mercers.

(19,956 posts)after the convention iirc. The emails were being released at that stage, but also continued to be released right into October, when he was there. And IF the rumour is true that Russia delivered hacked voter roll data to Cambridge Analytica (probably September into October), then surely that connects him in there as well.

And that includes members of the Trump family.
And Trump himself.

(3,181 posts)I think he is calculating that he will benefit from Trump's demise. The imperfect vessel sank, but he, the messenger, is still standing for America. Think 2020.

I guess we're compatible.

(46,166 posts)I can't talk to old coworkers who are Rs. And I don't even know if they voted for the menace. But they've supported that Party and imo that led to current events. I don't forgive them for their collective willful ignorance.

(108,978 posts)I had to call her back and I was nervous about it. Of all my friends she was the one I wasn't sure about -- and if she liked Trump I didn't know how I'd deal with it.
Turned out I had nothing to worry about. She loathes him as much as I do. So we're still friends.

(46,166 posts)I'm glad it all worked out. I can imagine how you felt touching base with trepidation. But it turned out to be a good time commiserating and catching up.
Out here I met a couple of women online who sew. We all live pretty close and decided to meet for lunch for a first get together. Three of us met and we're all kindred spirits with sewing and politics! Then a fourth person joined us the next time and she's also a lefty. Then a few months later a fifth woman came to lunch and she also leans way left. What are the chances of that?! We all consider it so lucky and so much fun. It just means there's no tension around the table at all. I have four new like minded buddies as of 2016. Not religious here but I do feel blessed.
