We all read or saw snippets yesterday, mostly concerning Steve Bannon. This piece, "You Can't Make This Shit Up: My Year Inside Trump's Insane White House", is even more revelatory, and frightening.


It details a government in free-fall. At the center is Trump, a man not only supremely unfit for the office he stole, but seen as so by everyone around him. Reading the piece, I'm reminded of nothing so much as the late Western Roman Empire, when factotums were placed on the throne in Ravenna and generals and courtiers plotted around them to be the real power behind the throne. And we all know what happened to Rome.


Yesterday, many on the liberal side were dismissing Wolff's book as nothing but salacious gossip. If this excerpt reflects the book's tenor, then it is anything but. Even how Wolff gained access to the White House is amazing: he was basically just waved in by Trump, who had no idea why he'd want to write a book. (Again bringing up the point that Trump is probably semi-illiterate.

What is also stunning is that it took someone regarded as a mere gossip to write a book like this. Again, for all the good reporting coming out of the mainstream media, the one glaring blind spot it has is still trying to treat Trump like a normal politician. He's not. And Wolff dispenses with that pretense. He shows Trump in all his
dysfunctionality and hubris. This Trump is not remaking the Presidency; he's destroying it. Expect journalists to attack Wolff, not to dig in to what he has written and verify accounts.

This is extremely important.. trump is anything but Normal.. and the damn media needs to stop acting like he is. They helped get him installed in the first place by covering up his insanity and concentrating on Her Emails.
