Chris Jansing and Steve Kornacki are pretty weak substitutes for Ari Melber and Chris Hayes.

(115,687 posts)Kornacki isn't quite as bad when he's just talking and not gyrating in front of a poll results chart. But I'll be glad to have Ari Melber back.

(16,829 posts)I love his election coverage.
He's not covering for Chris Hayes, he's covering for Chris Matthews.

(58,653 posts)Like when he does the election numbers. Usually, though, they could cut 2-3 minutes from one of his segments without losing real content.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,687 posts)when he's having one of his Red Bull-fueled manic episodes in front of his numbers charts. He just drives me nuts and I'll change the channel as fast as I can grab the remote.

(6,262 posts)He is smart, cheerful, and enthusiastic. His strength is process down to the nitty gritty details. He needs to grow on the policies aspect, and I think he can.
I think he wanted the Christie Bridgegate to go on forever. Gawd, how he loved that.
Chris Jansing is good - but Hallie Jackson drives me nuts with the motormouth. Her content and smarts are fine, but she rattles things off so fast that it exasperates me.

(2,531 posts)She reminds me of an eager puppy. Then Katy Tur has turned into a female chuck todd. She comes across as smug when she thinks she had delivered a gotcha moment.

(5,210 posts)Yeah, they ought to get a day off now and then (okay, weekly), but throw in the holidays and you never know who you're going to get. It's disorienting, and we get enough of that FROM the news. Don't need more of it from the news station.
