Stop making excuses for trump

Stop using “Alzheimer's” or “Parkinson” or any other condition or disease.

The “fake press awards” and the “big button” and “stable genius” are his and his alone.

Please do not make excuses for this orange vomit monster and his gOP enablers.

They need to own every second of this presidency.

No excuses.

No exceptions.

Fuck them and whatever stable the horse named genius came from.

1. To be intellectually lazy is a choice

one he has had the luxury of making his entire life. Why bother with something as mundane as reading if you can get someone to do it for you? If it's possible to live in a world where one is not bothered with information that is not interesting and or entertaining- why not? For someone with narcissistic impulses who has never been held accountable for anything, it seems like that is exactly the world they would want to create for themselves. Even better if he can make it more interesting by being famous and interpreting it as adoration.

When I read about his non-reading habits, I was reminded of Barbara Bush and her beautiful mind.

There are plenty of self absorbed people who are uncurious and not civic minded. It is a luxury many US citizens, especially those who are very wealthy, take advantage of. He represents US values of ignorance, pursuit of wealth, and prioritization of self interest, otherwise known as rugged individualism and American exceptionalism. He takes it to a whole other level because he can.

2. It's not an "excuse"

It is a very real concern. Those around him will make all the same excuses and accommodations that many families make before they accept the reality of what is happening. Some might even try to take advantage of the situation.

No one is accommodating him. A person can live productively with many types of disabilities with accommodations. FDR did.
If they were actually a part of Trump's reality, we would not see the behaviors inconsitent with how a person with great responsibility usually conducts themself.
He doesn't take it seriously and is not interested in carrying out the duties of a president. He is content to believe he knows more than he does and has no interest in learning. Especially when it isn't about him. We knew all of this before he got elected. That fact that these are choices he makes should worry us more because there is no possible accommodation.

4. He appears to be at the early onset stage

One can remain quite functional at that stage. But small problems will begin to surface. Over the next couple of years they'd get worse. If it is true, we'll probably know by 2019

your assessment is bunk. What we actually know to be true is that he was never qualified to be president. We know he is a braggart and has been since he gained celebrity status through his wealth and books. We know he is heavily invested in being liked and in the spotlight. We know he is ignorant and doesn't seem to be bothered by it.
The FACTS that we know present a picture of a person who should not be president. His behavior is a problem and it does not have to be a named disease for it to be so. I know people who have personal assistants because they don't want to have their days interrupted with ordinary responsibilities. If they suddenly do need to pay attention they are out of their element and can't figure out how to organize their thoughts or function without being led.

People who live in bubbles are out of their league when even basic ordinary tasks they have not done are thrown in front of them. He is clearly negligent. There is no evidence, beyond suppositions from slices of TV behavior and anecdotes, that he is involuntarily compromised.

I've said several times that it doesn't have to be early onset. It can be explained by other factors. As I say, we will know in a year or so. In the meantime, as you suggest, we need to work to oppose him and try to keep his administration. But I will continue to keep an eye on his behavior because if I am right, it needs to be called out as soon as it can be openly detected. Because by then it will already be further along than it should ever be.
