Senate Dems can now force a vote on Net Neutrality.

In what may be a win-win moment for Democrats, the proponents of legislation to reverse the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) edict to repeal Net Neutrality rules now has 30 sponsors in the U.S. Senate, which guarantees it will be voted on.
With 29 other Senators joining Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass), the bill can now bypass the procedural requirement for approval by a committee and be guaranteed a vote by the full Senate.

snip:
“Every member of the U.S. Senate will have to go on record,” adds Greer, “during a tight election year, and either vote to save the Internet or rubber stamp its death warrant.”

And every vote will be noted for the 2018 election

When good Democrats set their mind to it, they can effect change even when in the minority in the Senate. A proposal like this has no down-side whatsoever, and plenty of up-sides. Kudos to Markey & all his cosponsors. K&R,

The Dems have to find a few Repukes to go along with the vote. I hope somebody will find a conscience all of a sudden.

If you don't feel comfortable clicking this link, simply google it. It's unbelievable how much money all of our politicians accept from lobbies such as Telecom. Markey, to his credit is onboard and leading the charge despite heavy donations. This gives me hope and perhaps dampens my statement.

Gingrich came up with it (although Clinton signed off on it). It was used extensively last year to reverse Obama era rules. Cory Booker and Tom Udall introduced a bill to repeal the act last year.

Remember how we got played with the filibuster? Yeah, shot ourselves in the foot. Now the shoe is on the other foot... or gun pointed at the other toe.... you get what I mean.
