Steve Bannon Lawyers Up ... As Russia Investigators Get Ready to Pounce

Get the popcorn!

(From The Daily Beast)

Trump’s former chief strategist has largely avoided the spotlight of the Russia probe—until now.

Steve Bannon is lawyering up as he gets ready to face investigators looking into the Trump-Russia nexus.

The Daily Beast has learned that the former top White House strategist has retained Bill Burck, of the firm Quinn Emanuel. Two sources tell us Burck is helping Bannon prepare for an interview with the House intelligence committee, which is currently scheduled for next week. Sources also said Bannon plans to “fully cooperate” with investigators.

Until recently, Bannon had largely avoided becoming publicly ensnared in the Russia investigation. But behind the scenes, Bannon sought to play a role in Team Trump’s handling of the issue. He privately advised the president in October to get more aggressive in fighting back against Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, and urged Trump to hire new lawyers.

He's lost pretty much everything and I'm sure he believes it's all Twitler's fault. I just hope he's a vindictive as Twitler.

And that Trump will project he's a criminal, and a liar, and nothing he claims is the truth, just like Trumps done many times to others that might turn on him. Bannon could already be turned and talking to investigators too, and with many others statements it could easily be corroborated .

8. Unless his testimony is televised, we may never know what he tells the House.

Schiff does not seem interested in following Feinstein’s lead in releasing transcripts.

He didn't spell out the differences, but I think with such a big Repub majority in Congress and more strict disclosure rules, he and any other Dems who go along with him could be censured and promptly removed from the committee if he releases transcripts without Repub okay, especially if the witnesses don't want release. Glenn Simpson testified to Congress, not just Senate so it would seem reasonable to release his Congressional transcripts now if okay with Simpson.

There have been selective leaks from others and Schiff has been revealing what he felt he could without breaking their rules (such as speaking about how Don Jr. would not answer certain questions) However, if more drastic Repub obstruction to stop Mueller occurs, we will probably see a flood of more leaks and releases of info.

12. Americas right to know is more significant than Schiffs desire to remain on the committee.

At some point, we may need a Democrat on that committee to step forward and release what they know, even if it results in their censure or removal from the committee. I’m not advocating they engage in any criminal behavior; but the subject of these interviews and testimonies is anything but trivial.

9. I don't think he'll roll on Trump. That would be suicide. If he plans to have a career

in the future, he will lie and lie and help protect Trump and in the future all will be forgiven.
