where Turmp was blathering on about how Hillary was questioned by the FBI and it was not recorded and not under oath. Is that correct? I don't recall that happening, but I do remember her being questioned for 11 hours by the Benghazi committee.

7. So this is what he is angling for? Interview not recorded, not under oath. So he will just lie

Did Meuller issue a subpoena to Trump?

If so, Trump can still avoid the "interview." He just has to plead the fifth. But if he pleads the 5th, that's the end of his "it's all a witch hunt" meme. Presidents with nothing to hide don't take the 5th.

8. Trump is waging a big PR campaign to position himself as a "deep state" victim.

A big chunk of America may buy it and feel he is justified in pleading the 5th.

10. Yeah, 1/3 of the country will view his taking the 5th as completely justified

its a witch hunt and all.

That said, what are the chances, really, that he will sit through an interview and have the discipline to keep invoking it

12. Yes exactly, Trump will be very very easy to provoke in the interview.

He is quite fragile in terms of his mental health and can be triggered quite easily.

I assume the FBI has a psychological unit advising Mueller on the best way to approach Trump
in the interview.

If I were Trump's legal team I would move heaven and earth to prevent the interview.
But if push came to shove and Trump has to be interviewed then I would have him medicated
to keep him calm, docile and cooperative. I would also make sure attorneys were with him
to object to questions.

14. I think Mueller and his team are now working on this strategy.

They are working on Trump prior to the interview.

For example I do not believe the timing of DiFi's release of the dossier is a coincidence.
If we pay attention we will see other examples of the Mueller pre-interview strategy.

9. Yes, this is one option for Trump, to lie in the interview and then say he didn't lie.

That Mueller is the liar.
Typical con artist strategy.

11. I agree that the public is being fed information right now. I don't believe in coincidences.

The coincidence that Mueller wants to interview Trump and DiFi releases the dossier info at the same time.
I do not believe she would have released it without understanding how Mueller would feel about the release.
