She works in retail, and the cart attendants are trained to look for children left alone in automobiles.
She says ordinarily, they only call the police about twice a month for children left alone in cars. Today, three times. One woman today is on camera telling her two toddlers "wait here, I'll be right back" then going in to have her nails done.
It was 100 degrees here today. No exaggeration.
My daughter tells me the parent/guardian is given some sort of citation (and typically a lecture) when the police locate them, but the children are then sent on home with the sorry excuse for a human being.

(28,394 posts)It was 85 and humid. Even though she left the windows open about 2 inches, the dog had a thick coat. She just looked at me like, "Huh?" and never said a word. When I went back out to the parking lot (maybe 5-10 minutes later), she was gone. Dumbass.

(1,370 posts)I do hope the window breakers were able to escape identification. Oh how I would love to have the guts to do that. I will call the police though, in a hot second.

A citation? Where I was living in AZ, it was straight to jail- do not pass Go, do not collect $200.
