-"socially responsible capitalism" will never be the dominant model.
The banks are ALWAYS going to demand that businesses treat "efficiency" (which nowadays means nothing but reducing overhead costs at any price) and "high short-term rate of return for investors" over any and all humane, environmentally sustainable, creative and small-d democratic values-which means the process of grinding us all into the dirt is just going to go on and on and on.
Democrats should be prepared to support establishing a National Social Investment Bank and a National Co-op Bank, so that it will finally be possible to make "socially responsible" enterprise the dominant model in this society and this world.

He's essentially doing the bidding of the existing financial system now, and will keep doing so as long as he's in. So will Pence if he succeeds T___p before '20.

(50,254 posts)We need to first be the party that passionately fights for the many instead of the few and that unites ALL justice movements-which is easy, since the social justice and economic justice agendas never actually conflict.
And we can be that party no matter who we nominate-the way to do that is to make sure the nominee doesn't dictate what our platform is.

Earlier in a comment I used a reference to populism combined with democratic socialism. I a low poster, I note your a high poster. I like your thinking.
pRezident dRumpf must go.
As a country, we must turn back to the people. I'm for any structure that benefits all americans. The top one percent and others that are close need to pay for their for their advantage. Let's call their payment an opportunity cost.
