There's No Way Out

January 12, 2018 at 12:51 pm EST By Taegan Goddard

David Graham: “Here is the paradox: Everyone, from the president to his staff to the Congress to the pundits to the people, knows that the current situation is a disaster, and yet there is no apparent way to end the situation.”

“That means until at least the end of 2020, the situation will remain much as it is, with a president widely acknowledged to be dysfunctional and no way to change that. It is as though the United States is stumbling, never quite falling on its face but never fully righting itself, either, caught perpetually mid-stumble. The only certainty is more weeks like this one. There is no exit.”

congress can impeach him. as republicans have made clear in the past, impeachment is whatever congress deems it to be.

even if they don't want to admit anything criminal, they can impeach donnie for being unfit to be president.
they can deem the "shithole" comment to be a high crime and misdemeanor.
they can deem his hair to be a high crime and misdemeanor. lord knows no one could disagree with that!

the constitution can't force people to exercise the powers it gives them.

donnie may be a disaster, but it's the republicans in congress who are keeping them here long after everyone comes to the conclusion that he needs to go.

I understand what you're saying and you are correct. However, it's only because pathetic men stand by and yawn while Rome burns.

The other is our potential annihilation by bad actors like North Korea.
