Some posters have have expressed concern about what the rest of the world thinks of Americans?

I think this is a good representation of the general view?

my 1st danish pal once called all the USA stuff american blah. much of there TV was american. yay! jerry srpinger. i was there in spril, 2003 & everything was very anti-war.

Honestly I got sick of people asking me about Trump after I met them. Usually it came up right away after an introduction. A couple of people were very angry, aggressive and agitated about it. Most were very nice, but troubled. I was living in a hostel so I was meeting people from across the globe

After awhile in social situations I would just say I as from Toronto.

They decided before they even went that they would say they were from California, not the U.S. Literally everyone knows California didn't go for Drumpf, so they figured that would let any curious Germans know where they stood. They knew it worked when people immediately smiled and got friendlier.
