Why would someone with Romney's money want to take a lowly Senate job?

Maybe he can vote himself in some more tax cuts and favorable de-regulations. More self aggrandizement at the expense of the rest of us. He'll pretend he hates Trump, but he'll vote for every single thing the GOP sends to Trump's desk.

I can easily imagine Romney thinking that he could have another bite at the presidential apple, being elected immediately after Trump and having, by contrast, a successful tenure.

2019 as there might by that time be swelling sentiment to primary trump.

I thing even he knows if trump somehow gets re-elected there is now way the country will have the stomach for a third straight repug admin so he'll be ready to go all in on a primary fight.

It could be asked of any of these rich fucks. McConnell's worth, what, $24m? Wilbur Ross is worth 10x as much as the entire W Bush Cabinet on his own. Betsy DeVos - a billionaire.

It's all about power and the sociopath satisfaction of watching little people fail from a high perch.

to a presidential run. It's likely that's a big motive here. "Back in the fray," but not especially to be a senator.

I'm no psychologist who could identify various motivations, but one he's acknowledged before has to be connected to the religion and the service of god he's often said his life is devoted to.

The Mormons have finished the mission god created them for -- to spread his word to the peoples of the earth, and it's time for the second coming, Armageddon and the establishment of god's kingdom on earth. The Mormon church will be at the forefront of this transition and just guess which nation has the biggest armies to field against Satan's and which nation god's new capital will be established in.

How would a man like that interpret what is happening in the world today? In 2004 he believed Satan would gather his forces in Russia and Iran. In any case, he thought god called him to lead the U.S. before, and he was strikingly astonished on election night when he didn't win. It would be very strange if he was not now positioning himself to be ready to serve if god calls him this time.

There was strong suspicion that he thought he should be president because of that, but he has a better shot by being the senator leading the charge against tRump. "Constitution hanging by a thread" and he gets to be the one cleaning out the White House? Ooooh, yeah--power trip on steroids!

Of course, I back this idea because it gets rid of tRump and I'm willing to stoke Mitten's ego a bit to get him to do the right thing. Prophecies aren't worth the weed it takes to create them.

...I would pick Romney without a doubt. Oprah hangs out with too many quacks and charlatans for my taste, and Manning should still be in prison. Unless Romney gets elected president the amount of damage he could do as an officeholder is minimal.

If I had to choose between Romney and ANY Democratic politician, I wouldn't pick Romney under any circumstance. The guy is slimier than a hagfish and is proud of that.

When it comes to Oprah Winfrey, her party takes a very distant second place to her beliefs and alliances.

Let's see now...Oprah has sprung onto us:

1. Phil McGraw. Went into the supplements business. Draws lawsuits like honey draws flies. Shitty psychotherapist.

2. Mehmet Oz. Quack. Pushes every brand of fake medicine known to man - INCLUDING homeopathy. Supports Vani Hari.

3. Jenny McCarthy.

Would I vote for that rat bastard Romney if the choice was Romney or anyone even slightly competent? Ah HELL no! But there is damage and there is serious damage - and to be blunt, Oprah Winfrey would probably be as bad a president as Trump is, just in different ways.

Your first post seemed to be saying that despite the fact Oprah has generously supported Hillary and Obama and is know to be a Democrat you would vote for Romney over her.

Haven't we all learned by now that any DEM is a much better choice than any repug?

Check the TOS of this site—backing repugs violates that policy.
