Trump's racism - define it - reject it.

Last edited Tue Jan 16, 2018, 12:26 AM - Edit history (1)

Public figures have done a good job in rejecting Trump's racism, but I also think it is important to define it. He is obviously one of those people who could be respectful of African Americans in public, and, as much as he is capable of it, even have them as friends. His bigotry, which is a trait of many, is towards groups of people. The ones who think like Trump view our society in terms of groups of people opposed to one another, where there are segments of our populace who don't deserve any empathy or respect. This is dangerous because it is ingrained in the politics of the Republican Party and the results is in their policies. This is what Fox News and right wing radio is really pushing. Right now there is legislation pending in Kentucky that would put work restrictions and other impediments to people receiving medicaid. Is this really designed to help anybody, or is it to punish people who are not deemed worthy?

It is important that our leaders not just denounce the racism but to define it. They need to make the case that bigotry against groups of people is just as bad as against individuals of those groups.

most racists deny that they are racist. Trump has taken that to a whole level by declaring that he is the "least racist" person you could ever meet...

violence in Charlottesville instead of any criticism for the racism involved that day.

In the 70's the Trump Management Corporation refused to sell apartments to African American., and his other business endeavors and casinos have been involved in similar types of discriminatory practices.

However, all one needs to do is view trump's entire 2016 campaign. It was based on racism, sexism, and bigotry
