Because there is no truth anymore, we have to stop worrying about idiots believing the truth.

They wont, not now, not ever.

We are in a crisis and we have ONE political party and ONE terrorist organization.

The filibuster is a good tool to preserve the voice and rights of the minority party. Forcing them to go nuclear would be like biting off our nose to spite our face.

think why they hesitate is because they realize that payback is going to come back to haunt them, though in reality, that should already be there

Big Headlines: will the dems shut down the government? How about some neuance here: republicans need Democrats’ votes, invite them to “negotiate” and in the end say we won the election, people elected us on bla bla so we want this and we will not consider your demands.

The media won’t remind their viewers that more people voted for the Democrat by 3,000,000.

If so, the Dems need to be all over this.

Democrats have zero control of "perception" in the M$M.

...... it will become the truth.

John Kerry had a bronze star, a silver star, three purple hearts, and they
called him a coward.

Hillary Clinton did nothing wrong but she was blamed for Benghazi, emails,
and her "evil" computer server.

Al Gore said he invented the internet.

rinse lather and repeat

Fox News watchers, Rush listeners, many rural white people, right wing Christians,
gun humpers, info wars online watchers, and so on have been bathed in for years
in an up is down and a black is white reality.

trump sent overtures out on a DACA deal, and then during the actually meeting blew everything up which is what actually started this process.

CHIP funding - a budget process item - DOES have a place in the budget, and it is a win, a concession for us NOW.

I believe we should be committed to finding ways to make government work for US - not to shut it down.

I know people who have been deeply impacted by Republican policy, including shutdowns and budget cuts.

This isn't just a a game.

have been done last year, but they used it as a political pawn, which it should NOT have been. Same with taking away the mandate for the ACA, allowing states to take away Medicaid from people who don't work, and I can keep going on.

We are dealing with a party that is controlled by racists, sexists, and bigots.

If the republicans want to do this without the Democrats they can it by either using the nuclear option, or allowing DACA and CHIPS.

Whether the Democrats were in power or not the republicans were never interested in compromises, it was either their way or nothing. CHIPs is NOT a compromise. Healthcare for children is a right, it is not a bargaining chip.

It is way past due that the Democrats stand up to bullies

Krugman says it much better than I did:
