(35,438 posts)Given that we live in a global economy, diversity is inevitable. Our strength lies in the fact that people all over the world want to come here and create, but that feeling is rapidly changing given our current political climate.

(17,984 posts)Seriously, what role would he play if he were forced to join an ethnically diverse society and do genuine work for a living? I swear that is what these fuckers are truly afraid of: they are worthless outside of their little, white supremacist bubble. If that bubble ever bursts for good, they don't have the skills or aptitude to survive in the real world.

(9,291 posts)that's changing everything. White people will be the minority in 20 odd years. Now, some white people should fear it because they treated minorities like crap. I don't think most of us did. Lots of institutional changes are coming.
They fear karma, and it's not my problem.

In a surprising breach of etiquette, President Barack Obama's Rose Garden remarks on Friday were interrupted by heckling from reporter Neil Munro of the website Daily Caller, whose editor-in-chief is conservative commentator Tucker Carlson.
Obama, announcing a change of policy that would allow the children of illegal immigrants to avoid deportation if they meet certain criteria, was interrupted mid-speech by Munro.
"Whyd you favor foreigners over Americans? Munro shouted.
Excuse me, sir, but its not time for questions," Obama responded.
Are you going to take questions? Munro asked.
Not while Im speaking. Obama said.

Fucker praised him and called him a good reporter but of course he had a different take a few years later

Tucker Carlson: Good Reporters Heckle Obama, Rude Reporters Interrupt Trump
The Fox News host called CNNs Jim Acosta rude for confronting Trump, but he had no problem with his own reporter heckling President Obama in 2012.

Tucker Carlson has a flagrant double standard when it comes to reporters confronting a president.
During a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session Friday on r/the_donald, a popular subreddit for the president-elects most rabid fans, the Fox News host applauded how President-elect Donald Trump attacked CNN reporter Jim Acosta for attempting to ask a question during a Wednesday press conference.
From the podium, Trump attacked CNN for publishing a report about the existence of an unverified intelligence dossier alleging Russia has compromising financial and sexual information on the president-elect. Bristled by the unwarranted attack on his network, Acosta attempted to get in a question, but was promptly shouted down as fake news and ignored by the incoming president.
Asked about the exchange during his AMA, Carlson said that Trump was in the right.
Acosta was rude, he claimed. Trump rose to it. I thoroughly enjoyed the exchange.

(2,702 posts)Perhaps they are afraid if they were to become the minority they will get treated in the manner they have treated others? But their concerns are unfounded, I believe the more diverse the society their racial minority status would not bring ill treatment. However, their being of a prick status might be a little bit more difficult to overcome.

(38,311 posts)It was hell for me because I was a weird squeaky, skinny, and highly reactive kid who was frequently the target of bullies.
Quitting high school for college was one of the better decisions I've made in my life. My high school experience was Lord of the Flies. There were supposedly responsible adults, teachers, counselors, whose advice for me was to "act like a man" even after I'd had my head stuffed in a toilet or been beaten bloody. The bullies called me queerbait.
My parents fled town too very soon after my dad retired. They are artists who have lots of misfit friends so they didn't exactly fit in either.
My wife and I raised our children in a cosmopolitan working-to-middle-class environment, not majority white. That was deliberate. I don't have a lot of respect for the white U.S.A. culture Carlson fears is fading.
