So...my son's paycheck just stopped.

He's an engineer at JSC working on the next manned mission. He was a mission controller for the space shuttle until that ended. He is a brilliant and wonderful father and husband to his family. This sucks.

This isn't funny. I know a lot of you think, "No big deal." But it is. This going to profoundly make our country a third class nation.

The Trump administration announced its plan Tuesday to eliminate an Obama-era policy aimed at protecting Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a press conference that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, better known as DACA, will fully expire on March 5, 2018. "The program known as DACA that was effectuated under the Obama administration is being rescinded," he said. "The policy was implemented unilaterally, to great controversy and legal concern."
What makes you think anybody finds any of this funny or no big deal?

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) took to the floor after McConnell to blast Republicans for failing to make substantial progress after Trump tasked Congress with replacing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

“So what has the Republican majority in the House and Senate done in the four and a half months since we received that challenge from President Trump? Nothing. Nothing,” he said

The last shut down they pulled on Obama did not throw us into a shithole country overnight as you imply. The pay stops Monday

I hope that this stupidity will be recognised for what it is and that a group of sensible legislators will get together and oust the obstructionists.

The right wing of American government needs to be held accountable.

McConnell and Ryan are just the latest to wear the mantle first worn by Gingrich and Armey and Delay.

If there was ever a need to have a HUAC maybe it should be convened in 2019 after Democrats take over the house.

Hearings to investigate congressional malfeasance with public oversight are needed to rid our government of corruption and cronyism.

An essential worker is guaranteed back-pay, but if he was on leave, it would be changed to LWOP (Leave without pay) and he would have lost money.

it took so long to get the back pay that he ended up going to Afghanistan on a dangerous mission to make some money and missed the birth of his first child. And if you are a contractor, you don't get back pay usually. The thing is though we can't cave on the dreamers and other budget issues...we just can't. it sucks.

as a person who lives paycheck to paycheck this would kill me. I hate when innocent people get caught in this cross fire. I hope for your son's sakes and all those affected that this ends soon

The whole thing is incredibly stupid. Republicans are just being pains in the ass for the sake of being pains in the ass and Trump is somewhere drooling in a corner.
