We're going to need the center right and the center left on out to defeat Trumpism.

Once Trumpism is rolled back we can litigate our differences civilly. I much rater debate the role of government with my fellow Americans than debate the virtues of pluralism, the sanctity of the ballot, due process, majority rule/minority rights, and the rule of law. That should be the foundation for any debate in a great liberal democracy.

Do you think we really can litigate differences with republicans?

I do not have that confidence any more-- not for at least....25 years.

Trump Republicans, hell no.

I'm thinking of Republicans and independents like David Frum, Bill Kristol, Nicolle Wallace, Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt, Matt Dowd, and John Weaver.

Statistically no significant, per the polls I've seen. Pukes in general are sticking.

I ask because I don't see a "center right"; I see a far right and batshit nazi wingnuts. So if you want the numbers to defeat them, and defeat them decisively, you aren't going to get it done with just the "center".

B) I'm not the one claiming there are reachable "center right" votes that can somehow be gained (aside from the handful named above). Working to attract the center right hasn't been working too well so maybe we should give it up. Just a suggestion.

And I thank you for your concern.

I have no problem forming an alliance with the Greens or Social Democrats just as I have no problem working with genuine small c conservatives to defeat Trumpism. He can have the thirty percent of Americans who are authoritarian. I want everybody else.

It's turning into trench warfare -- either you're in the trenches with the Trumpists or you're on the side of sanity. There's almost no one left in No Man's land. Anyone who could be won over by facts, reason, decency, or empathy has been already. We have to meet them head-on and defeat them.
