its that was the end game its pretty weak sauce. It may resonate well amongst people like us who follow politics closely but it wont carry any weight with the average american. That message will get drowned in the RW propaganda. The average voter will just remember that there was a shutdown caused by democrats and that they caved at the end.

That's **EXACTLY** what this was for, and I thought LO'D explained it very well. Three Dem Senators from red states just upped their chances of defeating their Repug challengers. That was worth quite a lot. Maybe it won't get nationwide attention, but that's not the point. It will count big where it is needed. THAT was the point.
