Killed, injured millions by illegally invading Iraq.
Gave rise to Isis.
Crashed the economy, many Americans lost a lot of money.
Katrina, dead Americans floating in water, no help is sent.

Every day, I try my own way of fighting back and though this may sound "quaint", I do so by trying to do at least one tiny thing for someone else-- Usually it is something very small, like opening a door for someone laden down with packages, or giving benefit-of-the doubt and maybe an understanding word when someone is brusque or rude to me. Or I bite my lip when I hear for the countless time how someone is allowing themselves to be a doormat to their selfish (Trump-supporting) spouse and just let them vent.

It may sound "Pollyannaish" and I'm no Mother Theresa, that's for sure, but sometimes these tiny tiny tiny gestures can make myself feel better as well.

were never given this much power and for so long.

When I was in third grade our teacher was a sadist. He did the corporal punishment, among other things. The beatings were meted out in front of the class. Kids going home and describing the beatings of kids from other classes at dinner must have set off alarms. One day the fucker was gone, replaced by a lovely, sweet young lady who did well.

Jim Crow is probably the most serious example. But if you look at how many immigrants were treated in the early history, it wasn't pretty. The treatment of the Mormons in the early days that drove them west wasn't pretty either. The Native American's and things like the Trail of Tears probably ranks right up there as well.

I've been painfully aware of the hateful undercurrent in this country for years, but, until now, I never dreamed it was this close to being a governing majority.

I thought we were moving forward and accepting people for their diversity, that's what makes us so special, but look at what we have now, I do not need to say more.

We are much better than this aren't we? Our kids deserve better.
